This place looks like a dump inside.
I was interested in a ride cymbal they were selling for $350. This is 23â round piece of metal, for 350⌠Only one in the store, canât miss it. These people wouldnât respond to my messages on fb about it, I called and they said they would look into what I offered to trade and reach back out to me, never did. I drive the 1:20 to go look at the item I was interested in, and itâs a piece of junk, someone went over it with an angle grinder, bent it in spot, wore off all the labeling and even got black paint on it. Completely misrepresented and over priced.
The little boy working the counter there tried to tell me it was how the cymbal was made. âHand hammeringâ Lol no, no itâs not. Once I asked him how much he paid for the cymbal and showed him the damage, his ego got bruised and he said he wouldnât trade me. The best part is he obviously knew nothing about instruments, just googled the names of things and what they were selling for, which is a pretty arbitrary approach. Wouldnât take the $250 of cymbals bc he didnât want more cymbals, or $450 guitar worth more than the cymbal bc it has 8 strings and he thinks it wouldnât sell. Well good luck selling the damaged cymbal youâre trying to scam someone at full value for.. itâs not even worth $100 in its state.. waste of time, would never deal with this...
Read moreâI had a very frustrating and disappointing experience at Asheboro Gold and Pawn. My brother pawned a shotgun that didnât belong to him â it was my grandfatherâs, and priceless to me. When I tried to buy it back, the shop refused unless I brought my brother with me. The police were called and confirmed the shotgun could legally be sold back to me, but the shop still refused.
Their own response makes the problem clear: pawn shops donât run background checks when taking in firearms. That may be legal, but it means stolen or illegal guns can easily end up here, knowing the thief wonât come back for them. Then the rightful owner has to go through police and evidence just to try and get their property back.
I didnât press charges because I didnât want my grandfatherâs shotgun sitting in police custody for months â I just wanted it returned. The police said it could legally be given back to me, but Asheboro Gold and Pawn still refused. Instead of doing the right thing and helping return a stolen family heirloom, they hid behind policy. People deserve to know this is how situations like this are...
Read moreThese guys were the only ones in town that helped us, even though they already had an overstock of what we were trying to pawn they so went ahead and purchased our items. They were very friendly, welcoming, and seemed to be refreshingly honest. We were traveling due to a funeral and were forced to sell our personal property in order to make the trip. We ran into mechanical issues as well as tire problems. Everywhere we went in the area was unwilling to even take a look at what we had and didn't care one bit that we were stranded and had nowhere to stay and we desperately needed someone to take these things off our hands so we could continue our journey home. We had very nice, expensive items we were willing to take very very little for considering what we paid. Thank you for helping us, we were able to get a tire thankfully that was very reliable and start on our way home, we owe you so much...
