So It’s been almost 2 years but I have to share mine and my husbands story. The man in the office who marries people is the most rude individual I’ve ever encountered. On July 21st 2023 we went to get married— we made an appointment on May 22nd when we bought our marriage license and the man who was actually rude in person made the appointment over the phone asking if we bought the marriage license that day (May 22nd) and I said yes, and that we wanted to get married on July 21st and he said that’s fine and made the appointment. The day comes and we arrived, and was maybe 5 mins late (due to having to go through security) as soon as we enter he was completely rude, stating that our marriage license was invalid since we had 60 days to get married. July 21st made the 60th day and he was swearing he couldn’t marry us. He actually refused saying that even if he did marry us that the license wouldn’t be valid but if you count from May 22nd to July 21st, it’s literally 60 days. He was just rude and came off snarky as soon as we entered his office. Honestly? He ALMOST ruined our day. But thankfully the ladies in the other office who sold us a NEW license helped us so much! But that man? I wouldn’t recommend getting...
Read moreThe most unethical, impertinent courthouse staff you will ever encounter. You are quite literally not allowed to bring ANYTHING into this courthouse for any reason. No cell phone, no purse/handbag of any kind, no smartwatch, the list goes on. If you have any of these items on you, you can either walk back down the numerous flights of stairs to your car (as I witnessed them force an elderly patron do), or they conveniently have lockers you can PAY for. I have interned with DAs and courthouses all over the state, in cities both bigger and smaller than this place, and this is NOT the norm. Anywhere. Do not expect any form of respect from the officers up front, the DA staff, the clerks, etc. They have no interest in serving you or the community. It's a complete embarrassment to the area, I would be ashamed to be associated with them in any way. I'm in the process of filing a complaint with the NCDOJ, and even if nothing is done (which I anticipate will be the case), I wanted to give a fair warning to anyone else who is unfortunate enough to visit this place. Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself, take care of your business, and get out of there as...
Read moreI give it no stars but you need one to post a review. Here's some KNOWLEDGE rather than the usual. A great percentage of the officials in this town promote oppression. Read its history for yourself. This is a town that allows and is excited for the sale of confederate paraphernalia on Liberty and Fayetteville St. A town full of snakes and racist lying in low cut grass. They could care less about your individual welfare or progression. They wear judges robes, police uniforms, and hold titles of "power" hiding behind patriotism and zeal. I recommend no human being fall into the judicial system in this county. Furthermore any person of color. To the lowest class misdemeanor to the highest class felony. Less than 10 miles outside of the city limits of Asheboro, is home to a very large chapter of the Klu Klux Klan..... Many of the residents from this neighboring town commute to work in Asheboro holding various employment positions. Many commute from Asheboro to participate in what the Klan stands for. All in all....Stay away! Its not even worth...
