Collector's Antique Mall — Attraction in Asheboro

As a youth group we travelled to this collectors antique shop in hopes to see what they offer. There was a piano that was out on display to be touched and my elbow touched the fall board and went over the keys. We quickly put it back up and continued to look around. One of the boys in our group (being one of the youngest) was twelve years old and was separated from the group. The man that owned the store asked if he was hurt by the piano and then started to accuse him of trying to damage the piano on purpose. The boy had nothing to do with it and our youth leader came to talk to him. He told the owner that if he needed to talk to the child he would need to consult the responsible adult rather than to confront the child alone. The boy began to tear up and we all gave our best efforts to help the situation. I told him that I was responsible, he barely acknowledged me and continued to throw his accusations at him. After we thought the air had cleared the man came back a few minutes after and told us to all leave. He even said to us himself that he wasn't entirely sure that the boy was responsible for the "incident". I can't fairly give a review to the items that could be purchased here because I was not given enough time to look around. If he felt the situation was so urgent he could've talked to all of us together instead of singling out the most vulnerable of the group. We were looking for a weird item to give our friends as a house warming gift that they would have to put in their house no matter what and we found this Bill and Hillary Clinton cardboard cutout. We went to look at it and the sign that said “do not touch blah blah blah” was backwards and we wanted to see a price and if it was in good condition and worth a buy. The man rudely came over talking about how people need to stop touching it. First off, it’s in a corner badly placed if I may add. If you want to sell something, especially if it is a cardboard cutout, place it in a viewable position so we wouldn’t have to get back to it! Secondly, don’t treat a real customer with disrespect, we were really looking forward to getting something from there. But we decided to get some stuff from the antique store...

Collector's Antique Mall is a very large place and they have a wide variety of different antiques. They have a great variety of antique furniture as well. I really believe that this is one of those places that you would have to come many times to be able to see everything that they have to offer. There's even an upstairs. I wasn't able to go upstairs the last time I was there but I will be going back to check it out. They have a section just for antique camera's, even though if you look around you will see camera's sitting around the store. There is a section of antique Barbie dolls.
