The Naked Lemon — Restaurant in Astoria

I've dealt with poor customer service from this business for years and accepted it because of the quality of their product. However, now they are serving very stale macarons. The two lemon ones were so old, they crumbled to pieces and were barely edible.

It made me nervous since I just bought my sister 40 dollars worth (a dozen) , and I was worried the birthday cake flavor was also bad. That's a lot of money, a business needs to maintain a level of quality.

Please date your product.

One time I asked when the batch of macarons they were working on would be done (they were frosting them). All the gal said was 'later'. That's not a response from someone who wants business.

One time I came a little past opening. I tried opening the door, then a lady came out and acted mad at me, saying she couldn't open until the owner arrived. Why are you mad at me? You're sign states you're open.

When you come inside they don't even greet you.

I was apart of a wedding party that ordered a cake from this bakery. With the 4.3 review on Google and seemingly decadent desserts on Instagram, we had high hopes for the cake. However, upon picking up the cake we were extremely dissatisfied in the end product. The cake was not even covered entirely with frosting. There was no piped frosting to enhance what should have been a beautiful cake. My significant other, who has worked in a professional restaurant and bakery, had to buy store-bought frosting and other items to improve upon the look of this cake. The picture below is after the re-decoration, but you can still see where this bakery did not cover the cake. Sadly, the taste didn't make up for the looks because it tasted about like a box cake. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this bakery for a wedding cake. It gets 1/5 stars, instead of 0/5 stars, for their macron's which were flavorful and beautifully...

I recently moved into the Astor Hotel on January 2024 and discovered this small business front located attached to the Astor Building. As soon as I entered the Naked Lemon, I was greeted which was a warm welcome for me😃. I couldn't believe my eyes when I laid my taste buds on their wonderful home made pastries made in front of you. The coffee they serve is fresh and delicious. I appreciate their fresh ingredients the Naked Lemon uses when baking their cinnamon bread pastry which is my favorite.
