Commoner Salon — Attraction in Atlanta

I went in for a haircut with Alex a few months back and requested a trim with the desire to leave long layers (my previous bangs) in the front. Despite communicating that I was only looking for a trim, she proceeded to cut off easily 5+ inches of my hair adding choppy layers along the way. When I stopped her to question the cut, she responded that it was a “shag” hairstyle (again, had not requested this look). Not only was the length I spent years growing out gone, but I ended up having to go to a completely different salon within the same week to salvage the hair that I did have left. My sister had a friend tell her that the exact same scenario happened to her at the salon, so I just wanted to post to hopefully help save some gals from any tears over hair in the future! I grew my hair out because of the pandemic it looked pretty cool. I went in there for a trim and maybe shape it up a little bit so it looks cleaner and less pandemic and more refined. I left feeling like Keanu Reeves in Bill and Ted’s excellent adventure. What the… Maintenance and waiting time for long hair is not for me. I’ll go back to having it chopped. Man I miss the days getting my haircut in Brooklyn at blue&black where I’d get a beer with the trim.

Went to the salon for the first time after a couple of rough experiences recently. Instantly I felt comfortable, the salon is super clean and aesthetically pleasing. Lynne Norman cut my hair and went above in beyond in analyzing my curl pattern and hair type. She even did a hair mask on me (which was desperately needed) after noticing how dry my hair was. She really listened to me and gave me an absolutely wonderful haircut.
