The museum as a whole was really informative and well put together! I work at a very large Black history museum and we’ve never addressed trap music, so the subject matter is highly unique.
That being said, just the existence of an escape room in a museum is something I never could’ve imagined, and that I didn’t know existed at the Trap Museum until I looked up things to do in town.
Right away I felt at home with the actors, they’re all witty, funny, and very engaging. You can tell that they love to connect with the guests and ensure that the energy remains high. I honestly don’t think I would’ve enjoyed the museum as much if the escape room didn’t exist (1. Content, 2. Engagement, 3. Real human factor).
In fact, my professional recommendation is that a docent be placed in every gallery to ensure the same type of experience given in the escape room is carried out through the facility.
My friends and I had an outstanding time, if anyone is new to Atlanta or just visiting, Escape The Trap is a...
Read moreI bought tickets online to the Escape The Trap escape game and the entry to the Trap Music Museum was included. We went on a Saturday afternoon. There was no wait to get into the museum. We ended up waiting about 20minutes after our scheduled time for the Escape The Trap game. It was $20 to park. There’s a bar where you can buy alcoholic drinks also. The drinks were strong and decently priced. The Escape Game wasn’t really all that entertaining…For one, they allowed too many people for one group. It was about 10-12 of us trying to find clues so it made it hard to actually engage in the game. For two, be prepared to be called a few derogatory names by the guides/actors. I was specifically called a “female dog” for finding a clue too early. The Escape Game is in two very small rooms and it’s not hard at all. Overall, I could’ve skipped being called out my name and just looked...
Read moreThis ain’t it friend. The concept is dope. There was potential if a little more thought had been put into the game. I was excited to escape the trap at first but I realized this was a huge disappointment and not worth the $45 plus tip and $20 parking tag. I’ve done others that cost much less, better set up, lasted at least an hour and gave the participants an opportunity to solve on their own. It lasted maybe 20 mins. And they for sure got us with the tip. They literally would not let us leave until we paid. At the end they have you run out screaming. To me This is a psychological trick to make other patrons in the museum think it was an exciting game. It wasn’t. One good thing I can say is that the actors did a good job. It would have been a dope 15 min comedy set. Don’t waste your...
