This post should have been made in March 2021 but the trauma of the night is still a struggle for me.

I had been here once before and had a decent time. We paid extra for VIP and side lot parking. This night that lot was full and we parked on a side lot that was “monitored / guarded.” We got there and did not do a VIP experience as we had time to kill. It felt like the line did not move and easily an hour after standing in line we made it to the front of the building. We were 4 or 5 groups back and the line completely stopped. Across from us was the VIP line for the front door and they were not permitted to enter either. Several people from both lines would knock and ask questions but were disrespected.

Visitors had purchased tickets online and did not wish to continue to wait. They knocked to see if they could get a date adjustment and still the doors would be slammed in their face. There wasn’t a special uniform for the workers so when people knocked some would be allowed entry but no one updated the crowd outside. Eventually after a 2 hour wait (from arrival) the security guard shared they were short staffed and had to allow some people to clear out. There was no apology or anything just blatant disrespect to paying customers.

When we arrived and paid to park in the trap museum lot it was early evening and the lot was lit up by sunlight. By the time we finished the museum we came out to night time. The lot we paid to park in was not well lit when we returned to my vehicle. I found my vehicle damaged, articles stolen and when I asked the attendant he radioed a manager as he was too busy and didn’t know anything happened.

We spoke with the representative or manager who went by the name A1. He did not provide his full name but assured us they would fix my window. This time of evening we could not get anyone out and due to Covid mobile window repairs were limited. Still A1 shared the museum would cover the costs. The police came and took a report along with dusting for fingerprints. The thieves not only broke my window they damaged my glove compartment that had my Glock locked inside of it. They stole work items to include files, electronics and my work laptop. The serial numbers of all of my items were added to the police report.

I am a business owner and could not work for a month as I had to work to replace the electronics, files and missed opportunities to make money as I did not have the tools. I shared this with A1 and a lady named Adlia along with sharing the price point for replacing my window. I submitted all of my receipts for my window, loss work and equipment in hopes they would replace my work electronics as a thank you to a military veteran. It was wishful thinking but they mentioned they were short staffed, they pretended to understand how this interrupted my night and work as well.

They offered to cashapp me $300 for my window and a we are sorry that happened. Window itself was $300 and that did not include emergency installation. This place gave me a real life experience of what it means to support the trap.

I have pictures of my vehicle along with text...

visited the Trap Music Museum during a quick 48 hour trip to Atlanta and unfortunately, the experience was more frustrating than fun.

My friend purchased our tickets online, but didn't realize the museum didn't open until 4 PM. We arrived around 3 PM on a Friday and were confused to find only one car in the parking lot. We walked to the entrance only to find the doors locked. After checking the website, we saw that the museum opened at 4 PM, so we decided to wait in the car.

Shortly after, a staff member came by to inform us that parking in the museum's lot costs $20. Considering we had already paid $33 per person for entry, this felt excessive. We ended up finding free parking down the street.

When we returned around 4 PM, a long line had already formed with little to no shade in the area. It was hot, and the museum didn't let guests in until 4:15 PM. Security checked bags and purses before we were sent to the "store clerk" to confirm tickets. Then we were ushered into "Grandma's Living Room," where a lively staff member (playing "Grandma") went over the house rules.

The museum itself was cute, but small. We explored everything in about 15 minutes. There were themed areas featuring artists like T.I., Nicki Minaj, Latto, Jeezy, and Future, along with a section highlighting the history of grillz. You exit through the bar, which felt more like a cash grab than a hospitality stop.

We ordered two drinks and were given small plastic cups filled maybe a third of the way. The drinks tasted fine, but definitely didn't justify the $33.58 tab. I wasn't given an itemized bill and didn't realize a 20% gratuity was already included, so I added an additional tip.

In the end, the whole experience felt overpriced and underwhelming. While the Trap Music Museum has a cool concept and some creative exhibits, the focus seemed more on squeezing money out of guests than providing a quality experience. I wouldn't return or recommend...

Bought the tickets that included the escape room. Was told to wait by the jail cell. Waited for almost an hour before we walked around and looked at exhibits to pass the time until the room was open. After it had been an hour, we saw everything AND bought/finished our drinks we asked if we could be refunded for the escape room portion of our tickets. We were told no, because we apparently arrived late, mind you we watched the last group come out of the room and no one else had gone in we were continuously told to just stand and wait. Then, when the room finally opens as we’re talking to who was allegedly the manager (I say allegedly because idk many managers that behave like that) we decide to just go ahead and participate because we’ve already been waiting and the “manager” said we weren’t getting a refund. Cool, no problem. We go inside and we’re asked to come out of the room entrance. When we ask why we’re told it’s because we asked for a refund so now we can’t participate. Mind you NO ONE HAS REFUNDED ANYTHING TO US. But since we “asked and was ready to go” he said we can’t just “do what we want”. So I say I want a refund because there’s an excessive wait and the answer is no, but since I asked for the refund now I can’t participate either but you’re also telling me I’m still not getting my money back. Got it! Like most attractions in Atlanta this is a money grab & I would only recommend coming here if you have time & money to blow and don’t mind people talking to you crazy. Shorty at the door who was checking tickets could work on her tone too. Idk if it’s part of the experience and that’s why she talked to us like that but if it is yall might wanna let people know that before. I thought I was visiting the Trap Music Museum not an...

Atlanta Museum Visit | Trap Music Museum 📍 630 Travis St NW, Atlanta, GA 30318 This pop-up museum was created by the famous Atlanta rapper T.I. As the name suggests, the entire museum is all about trap music, featuring a mix of street art and photo collections of well-known rappers. 📷 What left a deep impression on me was the table full of drugs and the replica of a U.S. prison—almost a 1:1 recreation of Black life—giving me a real glimpse of what prison looks like. 🤣 The best part? You can touch everything in this museum—beds you can sleep on, cars you can sit in. 😳 The photo walls showcase almost every rapper, and the prison section subtly hints at which ones have done time. I’m bad with faces, but in the prison pics, I only recognized Kodak Black—his "ZEZE" is blowing up right now. 🤡 Aside from these classic elements of Black culture, the most unexpected sight was a pink Chevy, which became the hottest photo spot for the ladies. Personally, I love the angle in pic 7—even though it doesn’t show the full car (pic 9 borrowed from my homie lol), it’s got the traffic light and the trap sign ✅, plus no line! 😈 Anyway, T.I. is doing some good shittttttttt! 💸💸 If you’re into Black culture, you gotta check this out! 💿 #TrapMusicMuseum #Atlanta #HipHopCulture #StreetArt #RapperLife #BlackCulture #MuseumVibes #TIDotCom
