Last fall I ate at the East Point location. Crowded and slow but food was excellent. Called in my order before church at the Marietta location. The guy who answered had horrible phone etiquette. He almost immediately put me on hold with no info on what he was doing or how long. When he finally came back I gave my order. He said ready in five minutes. I said good, I'm 5 minutes away. Click. He hung up with no response. When I arrived I payed for my food but was given my change in dollars leaving out the coins. I asked the outside attendant why and she said he rounded it up. She offered to return the difference but I had to get to church. After paying 2.60 to use the over priced ATM because they are cash only I almost cancelled my order. $20 for breakfast is steep. So many restaurants let you pay in advance by card during Covid-19 that I forgot they are the last place in town requiring cash only. Food was mediocre. Grits had the consistency of cous cous with thick beads tasting vanilla bland. Adding salt, pepper and butter didn't help much. Eggs were scrambled hard but I asked for light. Potatoes had a few onions and green peppers when they used to be loaded with them adding flavor. The biscuit was the highlight of the meal. I won't return. You can't have both bad service and mediocre food even if there is a pandemic going on. There are reasonably priced, card accepting tastier options available and those are delivered...

We found this local chain that boasts two types of chicken and waffles, so we had to come here. It's just north of all the aquarium stuff downtown. It's cash only, so remember to bring some so you don't have to use their ATM. But, they do have an ATM, if you forget, like I did.
We get in and seat ourselves and order some caffeine. The menu is stuffed with things that sound great, but ultimately I choose the Chicken and Waffles, but with the smoked wing option, instead of the chicken tenders option. I made the right choice. The smoked wings were so tender and delicious and they were flash fried before service so there's a great crispy exterior there, too. The only thing is I wish there was a fourth wing, to coincide with my four waffle pieces. Other than that little nitpick, great dish.
My girlfriend got some eggs scrambled with salmon and cream cheese, along with a bagel. I couldn't find the exact description online, but that was it. She got an everything bagel that made this unique dish a good sized breakfast. I was a fan.
We got a side of spuds, which were a ton of fried potatoes with peppers and onions. A super great value for the price and a super great side for our dishes. I was really happy we came here. If you want a good Southern breakfast, and you have cash on...
   Read moreGood afternoon,
On this afternoon me and my friends traveled from Columbia, South Carolina to eat at your establishment located at 826 Marietta Street Atlanta, GA 30318. When we arrived it was a 1 hour wait, which was understandable. Our friends gave our number and were advised we will be texted/ notified when our table was ready. We were not advised that we could not leave the parking lot. After coming back after an hour like we were advised we came into the restaurant and encountered the Hostess/ Manager Victoria yelling at our friends stating she came out to look for us and we werenât there when she came outside. What turned into a simple misunderstanding that could have been handled professionally especially by the manager turned into her yelling at our friends who traveled to eat in this establishment. I am not sure if you all condone such behavior. But yelling at customers who waited an hour to eat is highly disrespectful. Yelling at customers or anyone for that matter in your establishment period is unprofessional and ignorant. It seems Victoria believes because she is the manager she canât receive any consequences. It would behoove Thumbs up Diner owners to either relieve Ms. Victoria of her duties because she canât seem to handle the pressure of a packed house on a Saturday afternoon or require her to go through the proper training to properly speak...
