It's a decent place to order takeout/delivery from. The sushi isn't the best but certainly isn't the worst.
I've removed three stars because I've had a history of bad service here whenever I stepped in for lunch.
The first time, a year ago, I took a late lunch and was the only person seated. I sat at the bar area and ordered a roll. While I was eating I noticed the rest of the waitstaff was hovering and it felt like they were watching me eat. (I mean, when it's a waiter, that's cool. That's your waiter's job. But when it's five or six people waiting on you, it starts to get way overwhelming). But whatever, I figured I'd give the place another shot after they became more popular. Sure enough, a year later they've picked up some steam and I wasn't the only one there at lunch time.
Today I came in at lunch, in the mood for some sushi. I sat down at the bar again. A waitress came by, gave me a menu, and I ordered a roll. In a few minutes she returned with some miso soup. I sent it back because I didn't realize my order came with miso soup (my bad) and I'm not a big fan of soup. 20 minutes later, someone else stopped by to ask if I had been helped. I told them I had already placed an order. 25 minutes after that, I began to stand up and leave, and was asked by one of the sushi chefs what I had ordered. At that point I didn't even remember the name of the roll and I needed to head out. I mentioned that I hadn't seen the waitress that had taken my order in a long time. It turned out she stepped out shortly after taking my order to run deliveries, and there was some disconnect and my order was never given to the chefs. Not good, guys.
If you order from here, I would recommend the delivery. It's pretty much one of the only places that delivers sushi around here. If you want to stop by and grab sushi at lunch, I would recommend the nearby Zen on Ten instead. Better ambiance and I've never had service...
Read moreUpdate: I eventually left after being ignored for 10 mins. While I was walking back to my office, my coworker called wanting an explanation as well as to what happened. A different lady answered and told her they would honor the prices and that I walked away? (After I stood there for literally 10 mins in the lobby, actively being ignored). I walked back and we paid for the food since our lunch hour was almost up and the food was ready but we all agreed that we are not going back and my boss was right about the terrible service. I appreciate the other lady remedying it, but the damage with the first lady was done.
Original review: I come here all the time and today I called in a whole order for my office. My boss warned me that she had terrible customer service there before a year ago, but I reassured her that I had a great experience every time I go now a days, so my boss agreed to try it again. The lady was really short and rude on the phone but I didn’t think too much of it. When I came in to pick up my order, the food was ready and the lady working there rang me up and I asked her why it wasn’t the lunch price, despite it being lunch hours. The lady said I didn’t specify and after some back and forth she told me she refused to honor the lunch prices. I told her I wanted to cancel my order and order again, this time with the lunch pricing. The lady aggressively took the food away, (yes she would rather waste off of that food than honor the lunch pricing) and proceeded to ignore me and then I stood here while the entire staff actively ignored me. I wasn't rude or loud, the situation just didn't make sense. Terrible customer service, I’m sad because I go there for lunch often, the food is pretty good and my office is around the corner, but their refusal to honor their own lunch pricing during lunch honors is a wonderful way to lose my entire office...
Read moreUntil today, I had been happy with this place since I started at GT half a year ago. First of all, it was significantly understaffed today at noon. There was 0.5 server for all the dine-in (0.5 as in this person disappeared to help with the kitchen or takeout or whatsoever 50% of the time). I waited in the front for 5 minutes (with a few people waiting before me not for their takeout but just for being served). Then I got seated and told the server I was ready to order. She said I need to wait. A few minutes later the server came once to get water to the table before me, another time to give the bill to another table, and finally the time to get me water (I don't know why this needed three trips, and every trip was slow)... I told the server again I was ready to order when I got my water, and she said the other table came before hadn't ordered yet and therefore couldn't take my order. At this point I had been in the restaurant for 10 minutes and I did nothing. I hope they understand work professionals come here for their lunch break rather than on vacation. So either the server couldn't manage to take any order for any table within a reasonable amount of time (the explanation for being slow with me is that it's also slow with others anyways, right?), or the table before me needed more time to decide and therefore I couldn't order either. At this point I no longer feel that my time was respected. Through the whole process the server doesn't seem to want to do things timely or care. I hope they understand they're not an upscale restaurant that's worth this amount of waiting (upscale restaurants won't have this type of...
