Westside Cultural Arts Center is one of the best event spaces in Atlanta. Anthony, the manager and events director, is incredible at what he does always professional, friendly, and willing to go the extra mile to make sure every event is a success.
I’ve attended so many amazing events here, and I also had my baby shower and my son’s first birthday party at this venue. Both were handled beautifully, and the staff made everything stress-free and enjoyable.
Some of my favorite events I’ve attended include:
Souled Out Dates – always a vibe. DEEPER – perfect if you love good music and dancing. FEELsATL – consistently amazing. CULTURE Reggae – a must for my Caribbean people. Black Boy Art Show – powerful and inspiring. Girls Flea Market – fun and unique shopping experience. ATL Swim – one of the best fashion shows in the city. Art & B – creative and lively. 404 Day – such a great community celebration. SANTO PERREO – for my Spanish people, the music and energy are unmatched. Neon Brush – paint in the dark, glowing fun for date night or girls’ night out. Atlanta Comedy Jam – if you love comedy, it’s a perfect date night event.
The atmosphere here is always welcoming and full of energy, whether it’s a large event or a personal celebration. I couldn’t recommend this space...
Read more1st time visitor. The venue is open and spacious. Parking is available as valet or self park. Cheap me selected self park for 10.00 at the parking deck across the street BUT yesterday, for some reason, all parking there was valet for 10.00 Good deal, right?( Don't forget to tip!) So maybe self was.to be $5.00? Either way ,I was OK with the price
The event for the evening was a comedy show. The space was made up of couches and tables. Very cute.
There was a minimum purchase of two items for the evening. We all know that I love to eat so I had honey lemon pepper wings with fries. Baybee!! They were so good! I wanted more of those fries!! Also, I ordered dessert. Unfortunately, I found dessert lackluster. I wanted to like the pound cake with fruit and whipped cream. Sorry, but it tasted like a Sara Lee cake sliced with fresh fruit and cream.
Drinks. Remember I have stopped. My companion had a drink and liked it. I had a mocktail. Nothing special but refreshing.
Enjoyed the show and the special unexpected guest. (TI). There was a DJ playing popular music until the show started.
Oops! Almost forgot about the service. Each server was pleasant and efficient. They deserved their tip!!
I would return and...
Read moreI attended the sistine chapel exhibit and was just underwhelmed with the whole thing. I think the concept was great but poorly executed. It's basically a hot room with huge prints of Michaelangelo's work. The truth is it's going to be extremely hard to do the sistine chapel any justice but if they had had different rooms dedicated to one or 2 of the paintings as opposed to jam them all up next to each other in one room. It might be easier to appreciate each piece if it was set up differently. Also as someone who loves museums I would prefer they give us more information about the artist and what it took to create and complete the work as opposed to just telling us biblical facts. Most of us are aware of who adam and eve or david and goliath are, it would have been better to put information about the artist and the process of creation. This place has a lot of potential and I wouldn't be opposed to going again but i highly recommend they also add some form of air conditioning. It felt like a sauna in there... needless to say you i walked around this room sweating and after about 20 minutes i had already viewed the...
