Update: Really disappointed with this gym. My trainer left and the gym has made zero effort to get me in with another trainer. Just got off the phone with the weekend manager and was told they hired two trainers mid September. I haven’t had any training since my trainer left in the beginning of September , and paid for a month and got nothing. Will likely be cancelling my membership with this gym because it’s absolutely bogus that they practically stole $250 from me and delivered nothing. Their contract is also NOT legally binded. They are conning people into giving them money they legally have no obligation to pay when they’re not getting the service the contract guarantees. I have asked several employees when they expect new trainers and was told they don’t know. The weekend manager said all three managers knew they had hired people. None of the employees thought to ask a manager? None of the managers thought to tell the employees or to leave a message up front about training so people who do pay for training can get back on their grind. Absolutely shameful. Don’t give this company your money, they do not care about your fitness nor will they do anything to make the fact that they didng hold up their end of the bargain right. I was “recommended” to finish out my training. Which means continue shelling out $250 when my trust has been obliterated. My contract states I can work with trainers I’m comfortable with. I am personally not comfortable with my fitness being in the hands of a company who doesn’t think to inform their customers of any changes within the gym.
All I was told was they “express sympathy” for my situation and have only given me options where I continue to give them money. I do not trust LA Fitness, and it seems they desperately need to bleed their patrons dry to stay afloat. They also said “we’ve been letting people who do training know individually.”. That clearly isn’t working, considering they have three managers? Staff is always on their phones when I walk in, instead of working. They could’ve easily been making calls or sent out emails. Why should I as a patron continue paying them to not do their jobs? I didn’t realize I was paying to get no communication regarding what I’m paying for.
There’s memo around the gym stating we as patrons need to not be on our phones on the machines and that we need to put our weights back. But they can’t type up a memo about something so important like personal training? I brought this up to management and all he said was he was sorry. When you have a contract, it’s your job as a company to hold up your end of the deal, especially when they’re charging $250 MINIMUM for personal training. They didn’t do their jobs at this gym and it costs us money?
As far as gym experiences go, it’s a decent gym! Plenty of equipment. However, I personally dislike that they can’t seem to keep staff and personal trainers. I signed up for training and loved working with my trainer however, it unsettled me, knowing that he is the only trainer and works super long days and is now leaving (understandably so). Part of why I signed up for training was seeing how dedicated my Personal Trainer was to his trainees. I wish LA Fitness would take better care of the staff so that these turnovers would stop happening so often. It’s very obvious to me, as someone who goes to the gym regularly, that the staff is very much overworked/underpaid and LA fitness cares more about numbers than the actual functionality and...
Read morePlanet Fitness ($10 a month) offers 24 hour operation, has Wi-Fi "Planet Fitness has Wi-Fi !!" , they also have 20 large TV screens, Massage Chairs and Massage Beds and All Facilities are Extremely Clean. Extremely Clean.
I have unlimited data with my phone provider but in buildings my reception connectivity can be intermittent. Intermittent! Connection to the internet is important but this New L.A. Fitness in Auburn does not have Wi-Fi. McDonalds, Star Bucks, the Public Libary, Green River College and Planet Fitness has Wi-Fi but L.A. Fitness does not have Wi-Fi. No Wi-Fi!
I need a great Facility to provide excellent Broadband Wi-Fi for me to stream my u tube music to keep me motivated. Motivated. If L.A. Fitness decides to go Wi-Fi be prepared to provide loads of data because we live in a high tech era. EVERYONE 's (EVERYONE) going to use this feature. Dont be cheap- like 24 Hour Fitness. Supply adequate Wi-Fi power because everyone wants smooth transfer of data. SMOOTH TRANSFER OF DATA
Your new facility was an Albertsons before and it has been renovated for a swimming pool but you forgot (FORGOT) or was too cheap to install a Sauna / Steam room and / Jacuzzi ?! .....you better install a Great Big High Functioning Wi-Fi where I see no refresh or downloading icon on my smart phone. DO THE RIGHT JOB THE RIGHT TIME THE FIRST TIME.
IT GUYS. YOUR WORK IS YOUR SIGNATURE
Smooth music keeps me motivated. Music keeps me in cadence with my cardiovascular fitness goals. If I'm motivated I'll be happy. Smooth music upstream keeps me Motivated.
LA Fitness Premiums are not cheap. Planet Fitness has a lot of good stuff for $10 (TEN DOLLARS). You forgot to install a Whirlpool, Steam Room and Sauna but please install a powerful Wi-Fi .

Read moreI've been going to this gym since the first day it opened. It's always clean(er) than any other gym I've been a member of. The equipment is clean and well-maintained and there are a lot of different apparatus to use for fitness. They have a separate room for trainers to coach clients, and another big room for group classes. I have participated in the group fitness classes and they are good. They also have a spin room and those are always full; sometimes you even need a reservation to do a spin class. I have not done the spin classes because there is no room so I can't speak to the feature.
However....I agree; the staff needs to be much more diligent about making people wear masks. They seem completely oblivious to the fact that most people here walk away from the front desk and immediately remove their masks, as if the rules do not apply to them. Being a compromised individual myself, it makes me very, very uncomfortable to go into the workout areas where people are not wearing masks. Some of them don't bother to wipe down machines after using them either. The gym provides plenty of disinfectant bottles and paper towels for cleaning purposes but some (I guess) think they are not part of the "rules" here.
Once the pool opened after the shutdown, that's the only place I went because it was usually empty except for me. I am very disappointed in staff not enforcing rules. If they did enforce the rules, this gym would get 5...
