DO NOT MISS THIS HAUNTED HOUSE! I frequently visit haunted house attractions whenever I get the chance, and I happened to make it to their Christmas Themed haunt this year (2022) and I'm so mad at myself for not making it out here before. As soon as we walked on the premises we were greeted by actors who were messing with my friend while he was in the bathroom. Then we walked into a CLIMATE CONTROLLED LINE!? One thing I never like is freezing my butt off while waiting for a haunted house. (They even sold alcohol in line!!). We waited for around 30-45 minutes in line but their line entertainment made us forget all about the wait! We encountered multiple actors while in line and each one was so funny, scary, and UNIQUE! A few of the actors sang hilarious Christmas themed songs with their own haunted twist that had people in line dying of laughter. Waiting in line was truly a great part of the experience!! When it was our turn to enter the house, I noticed they were letting people in very slowly and with their group only. This allowed us to be able to experience the entire haunt without EVER running into another group. (I hate running into the groups in front of you at other places) We finally made it inside and I was completely astonished by the creative work of the scenery, makeup, costumes, and acting! I actually felt like I had entered a haunted mansion (don't let the outside of the building fool you on it's size). The building was filled with great jump scares, loud noises (air cannons) and each room and every corner was filled with surprises! The Elevator was probably my favorite part, I have been in several "fake elevators" and this one by far was the most realistic ever!! For a second I actually thought we were moving, it really felt like it!! Overall I would say this haunted house is the best haunted house I have ever been able to walk through. Some people may say HellsGate or Basement of the Dead is the best, but this one by far blows them OUT of the park. Great job to all of the actors, and staff for making this such a thrilling experience. I will definitely be back and be telling...
Read moreOk, so here we go... My girlfriend and I went there on a Sunday night 10/21/18. We got there at 7:45. Had purchased our [general admission] tickets through Groupon. Ended up waiting in line for 1hr 45min! Are you freakin' kidding me! There's gotta be a better method to quicken the wait time. We go to haunted houses every year and numerous times every October, and others claiming that they're #1 too, such as Statesville, don't have you waiting even half as long. There were 2, sometimes 3 actors roaming about the lines, which helped, but there weren't any that just lingered around everyone waiting in the general admin line to help pass time by playing their character. 3 separate ticket prices: General admin $25, Fast pass $40 (which is it's own separate line and shoots you to the front of everybody else), and then VIP Fast pass $60 (which, honestly, I'm not too sure what the added perks are with that aside from shooting up in front of everyone else waiting in general admin). Anyways... It took us 24min to get through both haunted houses. Because there was also a lack of actors inside the houses itself, we caught up to the group in front of us, and then, go figure, the group behind us caught up as well. This definitely took away some of the scare, because we ended up unintentionally forming like a small militia as we trotted through the rest of it. The empty hallways didn't help. Need some more actors inside to slow the pace of the separate groups making their way through. The props, the different rooms, and environments once you actually get inside the haunted houses were great. The enormous Pennywise [holding poor little Georgie by the arm] prop where you take a picture, was definitely my favorite set up there. Massacre has been around for a handful of years now, and I don't see why the inside of the large room where the waiting lines are at is not all spooky and decorated, you know. Hey, just my positive and negative...
Read moreThis was definitely one of the coolest and most elaborate Haunted Houses I've ever been to! And I've been to many, including out-of-state. The actors/costumes were genuinely scary! And so were the decorations, scenes, there were some really elaborate surprises I won't spoil - but it was VERY impressive & scary. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the train horn, jump scares, and flashing lights. Toward the end of the house, I had a headache from the loud train horn that would randomly go off as a jump-scare... every 5 seconds you get another jump-scare from a puff of hard air being blown in your face or at your body. It kind of cheapened the actual cool stuff going on in the house and I found myself getting ANNOYED by the horn & air puffs. Then the flashing lights - now, if I hadn't already been so irritated by the horn & air puffs, I may have found this cool. But all of a sudden I noticed I'd been inundated by nonstop flashing lights and things became like an optical illusion! Dolls seemed to grow and retract, I felt off balance, I didn't know what was real at one point! By the end I was feeling like the room was actually spinning and I thought I was going to throw up. I had to run out the end and sit down. Again, this may have been way more cool if I didn't already have a huge headache from the horn and been nonstop jump-scared by the air puffs. I was actually warned about the horn by a friend before going, but it was worse than I expected. I probably wouldn't go back unless they get rid of that stupid horn and puffs of air! Those tactics keep us constantly on edge and it took away from any surprise waiting...
