The cafe itself is super cute but WOW the prices were insanely high for extremely basic pastries that weren’t even warm enough. I came here with my family and we were definitely not expecting the prices to be so high but we had already made up our mind, so it was too late to leave. They charge $7 for a pain au chocolat which was not impressive, personally we prefer the Trader Joe’s frozen version which sells at $5 for a box of 4 and are absolutely delicious + the closest you could get to the croissants at an actual cafe in France. All do the pastries were around this price, and the quiches which were the size of my hand were $13. Like WHAT?! I could get a full meal for that.. I will say the strawberry cream cheese danish was delicious, but at $7 per pastry the prices are just way too high for this area especially since there are plenty of other dessert places in this shopping center. The coffee was also overpriced and tasted watered down ($6 for a cafe au lait which was nowhere near the quality I had expected to be - so watery)

I hope to visit again if they ever lower the prices since this was super close to my house, but our family of 5 spent $65 for extremely simple coffees and one croissant each, and we were a bit upset since we could have gone to almost any other bakery in Austin and spent less for better quality coffee and pastries and faster service. I would say just go spend $5 at Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods for out of this world croissants or just go to France!

EDIT 6/5/2024 - It looks like they are commenting on all low rated reviews to say that they’re illegitimate. How? I have proof of visiting on 3/17 and took photos. Such an odd thing for a business...

Finally had a chance to visit because it looked like a cute spot to grab a treat with a friend, but like other’s experience, I was super underwhelmed. For the price of the quiche, the option to have it heated up would have been nice. The crust was so soggy and the egg was so cold… It tasted fine but it had so much more potential.

The aggressive no photos signs also made it feel unwelcoming. I came because it was a cute spot and I felt I couldn’t even document the food I purchased. I can understand not wanting influencers to vlog and disturb everyone, but I didn’t understand the photos rule.

The biggest turn off for me was when we requested some hot water from the worker. She look confused at first but ultimately went to the back to grab it. When she returns with the small cup of hot water, she turns the payment pad around for us to pay $3?? I think if you want to charge money for hot water, at least let us know beforehand. After spending almost $30 for 2 items, you’d think we could have water for free.

Maybe the worker was stressed and overworked that day, but she was not very customer service friendly or saavy. I hope this bakery will work on improving their customer experience. I’m writing this because I’d like for cute spots like this to continue existing but my experience today was of such poor value, I do not...

I was so excited to try this place out. We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel and walked over for breakfast. We ordered couple of the spinach danishes, an almond croissant, and a crepe. We also ordered a cappuccino, a cafe au lait, and an Americano. Our tab was $51! The spinach danish was under-seasoned and the almond croissant was reheated but overly so. It was too crunchy and the filling dry.

That’s the food part - now for the service - we were the first ones in for the morning. Not a single greeting - even as we waited for about 5 minutes while the two employees got things set up. We were about to leave but then one of them stood at the registered and just looked at us so we just started ordering. It was awkward. Not a “hi! What can we get for you today?” Just looking at us.

Then, when it came to finding a table, it appeared as though they hadn’t been wiped down from the night before and nothing was replenished. The creamer cups were half full & had crusty coffee on them, the napkins weren’t full, the water pitcher had no ice and condensation at the bottom, so probably out from the night before.

Will likely not...

Rose Bakery looks beautiful and has a cozy French café vibe, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to the appearance. The coffee was terrible — honestly, it tasted awful and was served in a paper cup, which really cheapened the experience. For a place that looks so nice, I expected way better. The cinnamon roll and chocolate croissant were okay — nothing special — but definitely not worth the high prices. Plus, it’s self-service, and everything comes with plastic cutlery, which made it feel more like a cafeteria than a proper bakery café. Overall, it’s a nice-looking spot but very disappointing in terms of taste, service, and value. I wouldn’t come back.
