Austin 3-Day Trip: Day 2

I've been visiting here for more than 20 years and this place is still busy as ever. It's almost surprising how they've been able to keep so much business. Something about Simon Malls keeps people coming back. The location is OK, and the mall is not visible from the highway, as it is located next to the Barton Creek Wilderness Reserve. It was the only real mall before the domain came up and after the highland mall failed. The other options were to drive to round rock premium outlets or sand Marcos outlets. And this place has the theatre. Some of the businesses inside like Hot Topic or the pretzel place have been here forever. Sometimes I spend almost all day here. Exchange foreign currency, get a haircut, see a movie, eat, shop, test video games, talk pokemon, take photos (photographers, this mall has one of the best vantage points to take photos of downtown austin from the top of a hill) There are a few closed businesses inside, and Sears should be closing any day now. So I cant wait to se what they do with all the space. And just in time for the holidays you can buy a Christmas tree in the parking lot

Hello Austin, The new day is here. 🙋🏽♂️🌃 I just want to be 💯% clear...I am learning to live with PTSD, Bi-Polar Depression. I am not ashamed of any part of who I am. That being said: this was the 1st morning I walked in 2 weeks because I always get a a Lil Sad as the holidays come & go. I woke up one day by God's Grace food & home...are not an issue. For 2 long, painful weeks... I couldn't find the strength to do not 1 thing. As usual in despair, I begged GOD for the will to get dressed & walk. It was 36° outside, 7:15am & I walked 6. 11 miles. I walk to work through Trauma! I live 3 minutes from Ladybird Lake Trail. From lobby on the trail...3 minutes. Walking Downtown Austin Is such a mind easing, soul calming experience for me. It's beats paying a therapist because I get 1 on 1 time with The Big Guy... God! It may be GOD Is a woman....who knows. 🤔 This is why I walked & healed in one morning. Look at all I saw, felt, heard. The smells & birds, traffic, the feelings....

I was okay with BLACK FRIDAY at this mall. I went through Nordstrom and got to see designer products in person when I usually only look at them online. It was a funny feeling like meeting a human being for the first time in person. I easily recognized Valentino, Jimmy Choo, Rag and Bone....hundreds! I am really not used to big crowds so I didn't really want to shop. The women's restroom in Nordstrom was huge with full length mirrors. That is a plus. I got my nails done right inside the mall. I can't remember the name of the place, sorry. If you go there ask for Anna she is the best. I ordered a sweet ice tea at the coffee shop next to Nordstrom. It was fresh tasting with pure water. I can't remember the name of that place either. I wasn't there to write review but to enjoy some time at this beautiful mall.

This mall is one of the better ones in Austin! It's pretty clean for the most part and has a good variety of stores and restaurants. With that comes lots of crowds! It's never too hard to find parking, though, as there is a lot available. As with every mall, store employees and customer service will be different in each store. Some stores have no music playing and the employees won't even look up from their phones (AKA Pokemaniacs, speciality shops and most toy stores), while others have an over abundance of customer service (like Bath & Body works). There were some flies bothering us in the food court, but other than that, we really enjoy coming here to shop!
