I used to love this place until they gave my father & I a hard time as we were walking in. I've come to this store for coffee & teas for the past year and half with my boyfriend and never had issues. As we (my dad and myself) were walking in a lady saw us and immediately stopped us. She jumped in front of us and said "no no no, you must put bag behind register". At first we thought she was kidding. There was an Asian woman who just walked in with a over sized purse bag (That's pretty common now a days) and she was not asked. My bag is a black 'Candy' design backpack purse from Kohls. Now, I understand how it may raise an issue but it being so small I did not see how I had to leave it behind the register with my wallet and phone. I had both straps on. The lady kept giving my dad such a prejudice look and followed us into the coffee lane while I shopped for the coffee. I introduced my dad to an instant coffee and was buying him the kind I drink. Let me back up, after saying I've been there many times before and with the same bag with my boyfriend (who's white by the way) I didn't appreciate the hostility. She asked what we were going to buy not that it is her business or why it matters I told her just instant coffee. Again, I truly don't understand why I have to explain myself and why we were there. I know how this story must sound but guys truly they treated us horribly & I felt bad for taking my Dad there. My Dad was extremely pissed and asked to see the manager. At that point they said it was fine and we could get the coffee. I should not have but I love the coffee so much I still bought it. They followed us to the register and seriously treated us like criminals from the moment we entered to the moment we left... I am going to speak with the owner and would appreciate a proper apology. We did nothing wrong & I understand they are protecting their store with procedures but confronting people and accusing them of wanting to steal before anything has happened is prejudice and wrong. Other places do not treat...
Read moreI've been a long time customer of MT market. Although I never really experienced a good service here, yesterday service was unacceptable. I usually don't leave a review unless it is so bad that I want other people to be aware. As the cashier was scanning the items, I bagged them as she passed them down. When it was time for me to pay, I have already bagged most of the items. There were only a few items left that I didn't get to bag because I had to stop to pay. While I was pulling out my wallet and credit card, the cashier just stood there and didn't even help me bag the last few items. I had to finish paying and bagged the rest.
When I got home, I double checked the receipt and found out she scanned an item twice. I did try to bag while also checking the screen since many of my family members have had issues with their cashiers double charging or adding random items. However, I was rushing since there was a line so I skipped the last few items to pull out my card to pay. And of course it was the very last item that she double charged me.
I just want other people to be aware of this problem so make sure to double check your receipt right then and there. And take your time to make sure they ring up the right items. I have tried to help them bag and help the line move but why would I have to do that to receive an awful service/experience in return.
If the owner of MT market sees this review, I just want to say that your employees are the face of your business. Pay attention to how your employees treat your customers and ensure proper training and supervision. The cashier's name was Thi My L. and you need to have a serious conversation with her. I'm sure you don't want to pay someone to do a...

YEAH, sure, you have your average everyday points of value and quality with which to rate your local or not so local businesses, all in service to you, my beloved review peepers. This, of course, to aide in choosing your most compatible selection and location possibilities!
Well, to be honest, how much of an authority could a cornfed country/big city boy like me be, being thrown around growing up between here and Los Angeles and everywhere in between?
Because, I can easily tell you, pretty much everyone in Austin or the US in general are a mixed bag of nuts that blend to eclectic harmony when it comes to taste. Big City = more versatile palette. Things like sushi, or extreme foreign dishes are just 2 things that rednecks in the sticks don't find appetizing lol. However, it took me 2 years AFTER driving by this Asian market to realize in fact I have been shopping in there when I did Instacart. Funny thing is I never paid attention to the complete distinction between outside and the full-dive Asian shopping venues lined up inside. It's like a sushi mall where you can get your doo did, your nails dipped, and thos eyebrows pipped. Have some Dim Sum, shop for lots of different kinds of products, groceries, and services. All without needing to step outside. Lol So It took a hot minute to realize that THAT was the place I bought those .....
Try'em out. It's a cool step out of the states...
