I had a situation. I needed a bed and I needed it fast. I walked into Mattress Firm on a Friday afternoon and sweet Miguel was the lucky man who got to deal with me. I was all over the place… in the middle of trying to sign a lease while hoping and praying that it would all get wrapped up in the next few hours so I could move on with my life. My new digs were about to be completely empty, but I didn’t care… as long as I got a mattress to sleep on ASAP.

For the last several years, I have been sleeping on one of the most top-of-the-line Tempurpedic mattresses (aka the Maserati of mattresses). Was I happy that I would need to downgrade? Not really. But I let Miguel know my story/what I was looking for and I asked for his expert advice.

I was a little nervous that I was going to have to deal with an afternoon of used car salesman-like tactics, but it never felt that way. I’m quite a blunt and straightforward person, and I do not enjoy it when salespeople try to rip me off. I wasn’t in the mood for that, and thankfully, I didn’t get that.

Once Miguel knew exactly what I wanted, he recommended a few different mattresses. I tried them all, and of course, I preferred the most expensive of the ones he proposed, but I am not going to skimp too much on a mattress. My health is my number one priority in life. Fortunately, I’ve never had back issues, and I’m not about to start now. I’d rather spend a bit more on a mattress to save me from the money I might have to spend at a doctor or chiropractor.

I settled on the Queen Serta iSeries® 2.0 Hybrid 1000 12" Medium Mattress. To be honest, it didn’t feel like much of a downgrade from the ultra-expensive Tempurpedic situation I was used to sleeping on. It was also a fraction of the price. Thankfully, there was an Early Black Friday Sale going on, so it was significantly less painful than the full price. Also, it was going to arrive on Sunday, which meant I would only have to spend two nights sleeping on a dreaded air mattress.

After paying for the mattress and chatting a bit with Miguel (he’s so kind and friendly!), I was on my way to buy an air mattress. Fast forward two days later, as a person who never deals with back pain, I had a bit of it in my lower back thanks to the cheap air mattress. When Sunday arrived, I couldn’t wait to get my new bed.

The delivery process was super smooth and the gentlemen who delivered it were very nice. They were quick to move the bed in and set up the standard adjustable base that came with it. I’ve now been sleeping on the bed for 5 nights and I absolutely love it! My back feels fine and I wake up very well-rested. I’ve come to the conclusion that if you have a ton of disposable income and want a bed that costs as much as a car, go for it! But, if you’re being more economical and want a mid-range priced mattress, it’s not going to ruin your life.

I went into this location to inquire about a mattress set and or an adjustable base. I was greeted by Casey as I walked in and he asked what he could help with. He listened carefully and understood my beginning journey of discovery to find the right mattress. I shared that I had researched a few bedding companies and Casey helped me walk through the choices at the store. Casey explained details of each bed that I tried and allowed me ample time to test each mattress. Casey was just as concerned about me getting the right item as I was. I ended up leaving with an adjustable base (to try first as my mattress may not be the problem in my situation). He also worked with me on pricing and offered a friendly follow up service. Nathan is amazing! We had worked with him originally on another bed for our daughter, but happen to be near the Domain when we made the decision for our bed, so we placed the order there. BIG mistake. After some delivery snafus Nathan, even though we didn't place the order with him was our saving grace! Our salesman was literally 0 help so out desperation I called Nathan and he was the one to finally get our delivery fixed up. When we decided we need to switch mattresses, we went back to Nathan. He is very knowledgeable about both the products and sleep science. He recommended an adjustable position for optimal sleep that I never would of though of, talked to us about how size difference would effect the way we experience the mattress, about how to get an optimal cooling effect (pull the covers down an hour before bed) and the science behind cooling.
