Avon Town Hall Park — Attraction in Avon

I'm certain this is the best park in Indiana. It's not a "nature trail"/hiking style park. It's a very open, breezy and casual place with wide-open fields of grass, a wooded area and a lake. It's easy to just walk around in circles for hours and hours and even has a direct walking path to Avon Public Library. There are two play areas for kids (off the main trails thank goodness), an RC car track and outdoor grills. It's a beautiful, relaxing place and a wonderful scene of beauty in the middle of the city suburbs.

Frisbee Golf. Yes, the entire park is a big frisbee golf course. People are always playing, 100% of the time, everywhere. If you're into it, this is wonderful for you, and is probably a great way to spend active time with your friends and family. Unfortunately, the golfers usually decide they take preference over the pedestrians. If you stray off the path into the grass or woods, you will likely find yourself ducking frisbees or getting mean looks from players who are there to play and you're in the way. I really wish there was an active attitude of pedestrian priority as it should be.

Regardless, the park is incredible. It's beautiful and you should go there. I have nearly every weekend for three years now and I'm still not...

Our family has been coming here for years for our annual Easter egg hunt. This park is amazing! Great place for families. Playground equipment is taken care of the grounds are well kept. Pavillion shelters by the Playground with a charcoal grill. When you come into the park it looks like a small park BUT go further in and you will find paved walking trails, more Playground equipment, more covered areas for families get together. Ponds to fish in with a license of course. There is now a dirt track for rc cars that's looks like it's fun. Honestly this was only part of the park, I got tired of walking. There is so much more here to see. Can't wait until we go explore the other half of the park. This is definitely a place to bring the family with so much to do and the people here are so friendly. Definitely a safe place see to visit as the Avon Town Police Station is in the front...

This is a well maintained park with great walking trails and a nice pond (and the frisbee golf looks fun too). My boys also love the little remote control car race track. But as a mom of littles it irks me to no end that there are no trash cans anywhere! Not sure what the reasoning is for that, this isn’t some kind of National park with bears and such.😂 All our other favorite Hendricks Co parks have trash cans with no problem. We love to bring our takeout to eat at parks and it’s such a pain doing that at this one if we forget to bring our own trash bags. Also who wants to put a dirty diaper (or feminine products!?) back into their hot car??🤢 Also because of this there is ALWAYS trash laying around which is just unfortunate. We prefer Washington Township Park for this reason. I would also add that the play structures are NOT toddler friendly. Great for bigger...
