I have only been to this park twice, and both times my toddler had loads of fun!
There's a nice, large grassy area to kick a ball around or play catch, maybe even throw a frisbee. There are a couple gazebos and a few benches to sit and relax also. Lots of trees so it's nice and shady on a hot day. It's usually rather peaceful, even with the Metro passing by.
The playground is set up like a pirate ship which is pretty cool. There's a wheel to steer the ship, port holes to climb through, a slide, things to climb and lots of sand.
The monument is really nice. Great homage to veterans who have sacrificed so much. I love that I can show this to my toddler and start teaching him to show appreciation for our vets.
The restroom is by the playground and I haven't seen it extremely filthy yet; it's been fairly tidy any time I have used it. There's also a water fountain near the restroom.
