Tiki-Ko — Restaurant in Bakersfield

The atmosphere is amazing. Such a fun bar! It’s like you’ve been transported somewhere far away from Bakersfield. The owner has thought of everything when designing this bar. It’s like a museum of nautical treasures. And the tropical drinks are fun and delicious. This weekend was a little disappointing though. Every time we’ve been here in the past, the Shark Attack has been served in a shark’s head mug, the Pina Colada in a cute parrot glass, etc. We ordered our first round and we didn’t get the mugs! Come on….that’s the best part! The waiter who delivered the drinks rudely told us “You have to ask for the glass!” and walked away. So….round two we asked for the glass! We got it but when my husband carried the empty glass to the bar to return it the bartender said “No, you paid for it! You have to keep it!” (The menu states $14 for drink….$30 with glass to take home.). We didn’t want to buy one; we just wanted to drink out of it. I realize these cute glasses may tend to “disappear” more than Tiki Ko would like, but requiring us to buy the glass just so we can drink out of it is terrible. It takes away from the whole experience. I don’t mind if you hold my ID or require a deposit until it’s returned. Just let me enjoy my drink and the full magic...

Update: Still one of my favorite go to spots. The staff is great. The drinks are great. Their rotating specials are an awesome way to bring a little extra excitement to the place. Great merch. Just overall an excellent place to be.

Original review: Absolutely the best bar in town. Tiki-Ko is a full immersion experience, from the drinks to the decor and more! Their tiki theme definitely supports their name.

Tiki-Ko is on the smaller side so if you arrive when it’s busy, don’t be surprised that there’s a line. Hop in line and wait as it’s not too bad and it’s worth it. Drinks are a little more on the expensive side but fear not, there’s plenty in them and their flavors will transport you to a relaxing island somewhere beautiful.

The bartenders are top notch. They are super friendly so don’t be afraid to strike up a conversation with them. They’re also excellent in their craft.

Be sure to catch their sister bar on the weekends, The Sinking Ship, a few doors down. It’s all the same great things in a bigger space with a nautical/tiki theme.

The rotating drink options and cool swag definitely add to the experience too! Also check them out for their fun seasonal offerings. Just don’t take my word for it, check it out for yourself and...

It is a great place. It's like the tiki Room in Disneyland, but I take a Rome. I don't area. I loved it. The environment was amazing. The servers Benny and Bernie The bartenders were amazing. Such a great hostess not on evad, but they were able to provide us with a great tour and great drinks throughout the night. Love. The place is an amazing decoration, an amazing environment. It's just a place that I want to come back Definitely will recommend 100 % The only one thing I will suggest for business to have some type of appetizers. It will be amazing to have a drink and have a little fight.
