Good things come in small packages and this is a perfect example. Nestled in a small city lot next to the police department this small garden is a wonderful place to sit and have a lunch that you've brought or to meditate or to simply walk around and look at the beautifully arranged botanical display. We were lucky enough to run into one of the caretakers during our visit who gave us a terrific tour and explained the flora and rationale behind the various areas of the garden. It's hard to believe that they have gotten as much as they have into such a small area. Read moreBall Ground Botanical Gardens is a 3/4 acre garden just of the main street in Ball Ground, GA. I have always found this to be a quiet spot to relax, explore, and enjoy the peace and quiet. BGBG is in a quiet neighborhood, next to the City Hall & Police Station. The park is maintained by volunteers, and accepts donations. There is also a May plant sale to help raise funds. Although, the garden, for the most part, is dormant in the winter, I always seem to find some hidden gems there. In the Spring & Summer, the garden is in full bloom.
