Good things come in small packages and this is a perfect example. Nestled in a small city lot next to the police department this small garden is a wonderful place to sit and have a lunch that you've brought or to meditate or to simply walk around and look at the beautifully arranged botanical display. We were lucky enough to run into one of the caretakers during our visit who gave us a terrific tour and explained the flora and rationale behind the various areas of the garden. It's hard to believe that they have gotten as much as they have into such a small area. Absolutely worth the drive up for a quiet serene walk followed by lunch perhaps at one of the many restaurants in downtown Ball Ground. Thank you Dennis for the tour, you should certainly be proud of the work your...

Ball Ground Botanical Gardens is a 3/4 acre garden just of the main street in Ball Ground, GA. I have always found this to be a quiet spot to relax, explore, and enjoy the peace and quiet. BGBG is in a quiet neighborhood, next to the City Hall & Police Station. The park is maintained by volunteers, and accepts donations. There is also a May plant sale to help raise funds. Although, the garden, for the most part, is dormant in the winter, I always seem to find some hidden gems there. In the Spring & Summer, the garden is in full bloom. Please do not criticize or compare this spot to larger commercial, city or state funded gardens. But, enjoy it for what it is meant to be. A product of...

This little botanical garden is just great! I love that there are signs in front of the plants to tell you what they are. There are a bunch of birds flying around enjoying the flowers as much as we were. There is a covered area with two picnic tables, perfect for lunch. Highly recommend going here for the peace...

Most surprising hidden gem in a small town! Just gorgeous, inviting, well - loved gardens! So many varieties of plants along creek bed water feature and several benches beautifully placed for maximum enjoyment. Part of Rosalyn Carter's Butterfly Trail. Even home to a fairy village!

Nice little garden, about a 1/4 acre next to city hall. If you're in the area, it's cute and worth a visit. Not a "botanical garden" in the sense of Gibbs or ATL, but a nice little park with a sitting area and a butterfly/cone garden. Very cute.
