Barrel House Coffee Company — Restaurant in Ball Ground

My wife and I have been going to Barrel House since we moved to Ball Ground, about 3 1/2 years ago. We originally started going because we strongly believe in supporting small, independent businesses in our community. We continue to go because this place is great. The coffee is excellent and the prices are very reasonable.

Obviously you expect good coffee from a coffee shop and Barrel House doesn’t disappoint, but that’s only half the story. The coffee wouldn’t be enough if it weren’t for the service. People make a place and the owners and staff couldn’t be better.

The owners are top notch and all the staff are awesome. We are always greeted with a smile and a kind word. It’s seems people are becoming more and more rude and angry these days, but Barrel House is a great escape from the ugliness of the world. Ball Ground local here. I enjoyed coming here a bunch but will likely not be coming back very soon. Disrespectful staff when I asked for them to fix my drink, I was told I was wrong and didn’t get what I was asking for. Then the dude who rang me up came and told the woman it was their mistake. The lady fixed it and handed it back with an attitude. Good coffee, bad service.

After your response I understand where your employees get the idea from. I didn’t want to leave a 1 star because I have owned business’ before and didn’t think it was due to the owners. However you changed my mind. Thanks. We will not be back.

I would also like to add that the woman who fixed the drink, used a spoon from the lattes to stir it up, when she was done using it, she just rinsed it off to use for the next customer. Didn’t clean it or anything. That is unsanitary and disgusting. Did your...

My wife and I try out all of the local brew shops (staying away from S-bucks). They have a great location smack in the middle of downtown Ballground, the place is super clean and nicely laid out as well.

I had the “Barrel aged” Redeye which is espresso and brewed coffee (with a splash of cream). I hate to say it but it was probably the worse cup of coffee I’ve ever had. It was so bad that by the time I walked half of the city (it’s not big) I had to throw it away.

I kept drinking it trying to figure out what tasted so bad. Thinking maybe it’s the espresso, in the end I figured out it was the “Barrel aged” part that gave the cup such an off putting taste.

Maybe the regular coffee is better, I don’t know. But I would suggest you steer clear of the barrel...
