The only reason theyāre getting 1 star is because Google is too nice to some businesses and give them what they do NOT deserve. Letās get started. Iāve been in and out of planet fitness for years. I always decide to come and go, never had issues until this embarrassing Ballwin location theyāve decided to buildš„“. Anyways they charged my account TWICE for the same transaction. I have called and went up there numerous times in an attempt to solve it. Whatās the number one thing people ask when having issues? The number for corporate. S told me straight to my face that they donāt have a corporate. Interesting kinda sus but okay. Anyways I fill out my ārefundā proposal form so they can OBVIOUSLY refund me my money right? Youād think. But apparently not š. So I call up on Tuesday and this girl name L answers the phone š. This girl goes on to tell me that they do have a corporate. I said hmm weird because I was told you didnāt. She then proceeds to say well I donāt have the number in front of me, you can Google it. Obviously if I could Google it I would do that??? Like state the obvious. Anywho. She then says to me on the phone that corporate sometimes will deny refunds. How on earth are you going to deny a refund when you took my money TWICE? But okay weird flex. Carrying on. This girl has clearly never dealt with African American women because as soon as I started to voice my issues she says āyouāre being disrespectfulā. No girl, Iām handling business but anyways after that I was like yeah youāre not even worth me talking to, I hang up. Because duh. š So naturally I was like you know what? This is money. Letās go grab a police and drive up there. Do you think thatās what I did? Oh absolutely. Keep in mind Iām not the only one that has had this issue said the staff at the police station. Me, my mom, and I walked right into the location with a police behind us bc when it comes to money, ALWAYS have someone of authority with you when businesses are trying to deny you your money that you work HARD for back. Formal apology to the sweet girl at the desk that I can tell was nervous and she wasnāt even the problem when all three of us walked in. So naturally I was like Are you L that I spoke to on the phone? She said No but I can go get her, whatās this about? I proceed to tell her. And I smiled. She goes and gets the L girl. Which automatically I could tell she was going to be a problem. But lucky for me she was shaking in her boots when she saw the police officer, myself, and my mother and walked so slow to the counter. Obviously she knew what it was about considering I spoke to her. I said Are you L? And smiled. And she said Yes. I said Great youāre who I talked to on the phone. She then proceeds to again say nonsense and at that point I was like your manager is here right? Go get him. Again she slowly backs up from the counter avoiding contact and says āshe was being disrespectful on the phoneā while walking away and aiming the comment to the police who could care less what she was saying because itās a bigger issue than you feeling ādisrespectedā. So the manager comes and he also approaches slowly. The police officer explained the bigger picture which is that when it comes to money that theyāre refusing to refund⦠it becomes worse than just not giving out a refund. So the officer explains that all I need is a number for corporate and thatās it. Because my money needs to be refunded. So the manager also says they donāt have a number for corporate, they go through their regional manager for issues and escalations. L all of a sudden āgoogledā corporates number to show me and be of āassistanceā. The manager was like thatās wrong and not it. He proceeds to say I donāt have a double charge on my account when itās on my statement that they have. Gives me the regional managers email. We leave. I call my bank. My bank sees the charge. They ask for a notirized letter or for you both to come there in person. We had a join membership. It took almost a year (after not using the gym at all and requesting them to please cancel our membership) at the time it was impossible for us to go to the gym as my mom had just suffered a severe stroke and was paralyzed down one side and I was her sole caregiver, while my grandmother was also recovering from a fall in which she broke her arm . She also ending up having a stroke and then transitioned into hospice where I watched her die. There was ZERO SYMPATHY for what my partner and I were going through. It took as serveral months (still NEVER using the gym service) before we could coordinate our schedules and go into the gym together to cancel our joint memberships, but upon looking at my partners bank app today I discovered they only canceled his membership and have been stil charging for mine at nearly $ 27/ month since we came in and canceled around Januaryā¦..still for my membership that was NEVER USED So because of their error back then, they are telling me I must come into the gym AGAIN in order to cancel and they cannot even guarantee me any refund due. These people are heartless, incompetent crooks that make it hard to cancel and wonāt own up to their own mistakes. All this for a crappy membership I never used. Side note: just heard on the evening news there is a new law that disallows for this type of hoops needed to jump through to cancel. Itās been found to be illegal. The new law is called āone click cancelationā. Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame here about a week's ago and had the worst experience. I got a new job and this is the only location remotely close to my commute to and from work. From the start, it was not a good experience. I parked my car in the parking lot and there were people screaming at eachother about one of them taking the other's parking spot, I go in to work out and there were girls staring at me and whispering to one another continuously. They were younger and just sitting on machines not doing anything. I went to another spot and went about my work out. I then went to the front desk to use the total body enhancement and stood there for about 3-5 minutes while the workers were just huddled in the corner of the room talking and the when they finally got the room for me, the machine was not turned on nor was it cleaned. The girl took me to the room, took the disinfectant spray and just sprayed the floor of the machine (mind you you get into this stand up machine naked or close to it usually like you would a tanning bed) and says there you go. So I undress and get in the machine and the machine would not work at all. After about 10 minutes, I got dressed again and went to the desk and said it was not working and they didn't seem to care much so I said nevermind and this experience has been so bad that I most likely won't be coming back to this location and the worker didn't seem to care at all. I was respectful and just said this experience hasn't been good from the start and I just don't think this is the place for me and he just "uh okay" and then I left. Since that is the only one that would make sense to go to, I will be cancelling...
