Firehouse Subs Ballwin — Restaurant in Ballwin

Horrible environment! We arrived for a late lunch, about 1:35 pm. We got no greeting from the staff, as I am use to the "welcome to firehouse." I have been there before but my partner hasn't been so I was hoping hoping a good experience. We sat for about 20 minutes waiting as there were other orders ahead of us. While I sat there with my partner, I watched the young girl at the register sit on her phone with her back to the door. When there were 5 or 6 other younger employees there working, they were all goofing off, eating behind the prep area, and not paying attention to what they were doing. After about 20 minutes, I walked up to the counter and asked what the status of our order was, the young boys stared at me, they muttered back and forth about who made the order and where it was. As it was a dine in order and not a take out. They had it all packaged up and was about to send it out with another customer. Guy with glasses is not wearing gloves coughed in his hand did not wash keeps touching his face nose and glasses watched him cross contaminating food two times. Other guy is ridiculously rude asked for parm cheese he told me he thinks they are out and then ignored me i asked again got no reply he just walked away while pulling his pants up over and over . Open sign was not on and was not greeted by any one. Oh and my sub is burnt. Won't ever spend i dime in here again. The thing is with food especially in front of me i don't want to see you coughing in you're hands and not washing them and not wearing gloves and constantly pulling up you're pants or touching your face over and over. My boyfriend and I wanted to try this place, only heard the best. So we found one on Manchester. We walked in the resturant was so clean and very well lit. The cashier their asked if we were new, I guess because we were amazed by the decor. The cashier and the cooks gave us everything we needed to know and was very nice. They anwsered any questions we had. And when it was time to eat, after they carried our food to table we started eating.
