Before the quarantine I was in there with my two young children. I frequent antique shops often because that is my passion. Before I got out of the main isle, directly inside the door 3 employees who Had been playing a game at a small table went by staring at us without saying a word. A man in a wheelchair then came by and asked us how we were doing. I watched him go back to the table where another woman got up, much older woman with pink glasses. Who followed me down section right to the right of the door. My children are mixed heritage and the way this woman stared at my children was unacceptable. Period. By then she was standing between me and the way out of the Isle. Where there is no way besides going past her to get out. When I told her how she made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome on BOTH occasions I’ve been in she literally threw her head back and LAUGHED in my face! Never in my life have I ever been so humiliated and so angry where I was speechless. I then looked her in the eye and said you should be ASHAMED of yourself for treating ANYONE as badly as you have me and my children! I was BARELY in the front door. I have been thinking on how to handle this a very long time. She did not apologize she didn’t do a thing accept stand and watch my children and I leave the store. No one and I mean NO ONE especially two children who are beyond amazing and well behaved and myself should EVER be treated such a way in the middle of downtown Bangor! It’s unacceptable. I’d like to speak with the owner on this but their contact information section doesn’t seem to work. I’d never step foot in this place again. I can only imagine how many others have felt this way but didn’t dare say...
