My fiancé & I travel for work and love to stop at new places to try. As Maine natives we were excited to stop here and try this, we were hoping to try the new Blue Hill location but it was closed. If we could rate this a zero, we would. This was hands down one of the worst experiences we've had. We were quickly seated (which was the only good thing), 21 minutes later we were greeted by our Waitress who was very soft spoken, and she did not introduce herself. We ordered our drinks, which she never brought over. We then ordered our meal and she did not write anything down, then had to proceed to come ask us details about our order again- and my food still came out wrong. We both ordered burgers, medium well. It took us 1 hour and 41 minutes to get our food, with no interaction from the Waitress the entire time. Once we received our food, our Waitress disappeared and we did not see her again. Our burgers were raw, completely rare. We payed the bill right when food was dropped off and we left after not being able to consume our meal. We don't mind paying for good food and service but $40 for 2 horrible burgers & horrible service is a bit much. Absolutely will never try again nor will we recommend to anyone.

I am a native of Bangor. I no longer live here but I never fail to come to Blaze when I visit. This was the best experience! I felt like I was sitting in downtown Boston. The streets were alive with a contagious summer energy. The outside seating area was large and nearly full. I chose to sit inside. I sat in a window seat and enjoyed the eclectic view of people meandering by. I'm not too old to enjoy a handsome scenery...there was certainly some of that. (See photos) My waitress, Tyra (on left) was exceptionally sweet and very attentive. The bartender was friendly and makes a stellar drink. For those who aren't familiar, Blaze sits in a building that's more than 100 years old. There's a nuclear fallout shelter in the basement. Nextdoor is the Charles Inn. It's considered haunted by some and, was once featured in "Hotel Impossible". Al Brady was gunned down by the FBI just outside both buildings. In 1937 he and his gang came to Bangor to buy machine guns from a local sporting goods store. The FBI was tipped off. The shootout was described as "A spectacular gun battle" (See Wikipedia). If you come to Bangor, don't miss sitting in this beautifully renovated restaurant rich in history and in "spirits".

If you’re looking for a flavor-packed adventure, Blaze Bangor is the spot to hit! On our recent visit, we dove into a pound of Thai wings that were pure dynamite—crispy, with just the right blend of sweet and spicy, and paired with a house-made ranch that was nothing short of spectacular. But the real star of the show was the Philly cheesesteak skillet. Picture this: tender, juicy beef, perfectly sautéed onions and peppers, and a generous layer of melted cheese that pulls you in with every bite. And just when you think it couldn’t get any better, two beautifully poached eggs top it off, adding a rich, velvety twist that took the dish to a whole new level of yum! Rounding out our feast was the Hangover Cure, a dish that lives up to its name by delivering comforting, hearty goodness when you need it most. Every bite felt like a warm, satisfying hug for your taste buds. With its vibrant atmosphere and a team that makes you feel right at home, Blaze Bangor isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience. Whether you’re in the mood for a bold bite or some classic comfort, Blaze Bangor brings the pep and the flavor in every dish. Can’t wait to head back and fuel up on more of their creative, mouthwatering eats!

My party of 4 waited quite sometime to be seated but luckily we found 4 chairs at the bar. We had called ahead but had the same wait time of almost 45 minutes when we got there 25 mins later. From the bar We had great drinks and a few appitizers with fair service considering they were packed. The gentleman bartender was politely attentive but I wouldn't say overly friendly. He was very busy so i can understand he may not of had time for random chit chat. We had never been there and tried new drinks which I'm pretty certain the gentleman had been very aware we were first-timers but never once asked if we liked our selections. I wish he had asked so I could of complimented him on my drink. Unfortunately we never did get any of the special condiments we orderd with our appitizers...I thought they were a bit pricey but tasted good. I had noticed that about 10 mins after our appitizers came..another set of our same appitizers came. .with all the sauces...we were asked if we ordered two more appitizers and when we said no..the server quickly left. We could tell they were confused and unimpressed. It would have been nice to at least been offered the extra appitizers. ..we would have paid for them no problem..we were Hungry! We asked if we could order our dinner and have it served to our table and he said we could. Once we were seated at the table we soon had water and asked if we would like more drinks..when asked if we knew what we wanted. We told our female server we had already ordered ahead at the bar...thats when things got a bit uncomfortable. It was obvious she was not impressed. Since we were asked to pay at the bar prior to going to our table..all 4 of us had paid for our complete meals and drinks already. We didn't understand what would have been the problem. Once more the server came aprox. 20 mins later to ask if we needed another drink..we did not but asked about our food. We had ordreed it about 40 mins prior from the bar. She informed us we were next as they has a party of 25 just before us. Our food was brought out about 10 minutes after. Things were ok..not great but not bad either. I did think my mushroom pizza was pretty good. Unfortunately We never saw our server again. We actually just got up and left a short time after we were finished eating. I see all the wonderful reviews and I'm sure it could have been great. .but after 4 of us spend close to 200 on 5 drinks total and our food..we would probably not return. Had our service been a bit better, we would of gave it another try. And one last thing...my friend got a $30 steak meal and it was not hot. He was pretty disappointed with that. Maybe the server could of made things right..but she never returned to our table. Iv heard great things and overall we were sadly...

We came in around noon time on a pretty quiet Wednesday, the service and wait staff were phenomenal. My complaints come from the food, I am a little disheartened by the pricing once the quality is factored in. Among three of us we ordered some pork tacos, a standard cheese burger and a Nashville hot chicken sandwich. To begin, the fries were good, they were hot and well seasoned, not too crispy but I don't mind my fries being on the softer side. Firstly, the pork tacos left a lot to be desired, with so many other places in the Bangor area serving tacos I see no reason to come here. The pork itself appeared tough and upon having a piece myself, wholefully unseasoned. The tortillas were a bit on the soggy side as well, tending to be a bit mushy. The presentation was great, the portion size was great, visually it looked appealing but it lacked any substance. Secondly, the cheese burger, for starters I have to say, there was a hair visible on the patty once the bun was removed. We picked it out and soldiered on but not a great start. Listen, I get it, hair falls out, it happens. We do not hold this against the restaurant as much as others would but when adding in the other problems we had this only serves to detract from the experience. Regardless, the buns were literally charcoal, black as night on the underside. This really confuses me as toasting a bun is as basic as it gets. Fortunately the burger itself seemed to be fine, well portioned and well seasoned but the buns leave a nasty, bitter taste and residue if they are overdone to this extent. Thirdly comes the Nashville fried chicken with hot honey, with the expectation of a hot chicken sandwich having hot honey being on the spicier side I carefully ordered this sandwich. Let me say, the chicken itself was well cooked. The batter was very thick and in spots overwhelmed the chicken, my first bite was in a spot where so much batter had accumulated it was still undercooked. The batter was raw. While I appreciate a large chicken sandwich if there is so much batter it isn't being fully cooked I think the size should be reduced slightly. It also wasn't spicy, like at all, not a single ounce of spice, I have had cereal which has left my mouth spicier than this sandwich. I'm not too picky with my food but for the price I expect a bit more quality control. Among the three different dishes we all had at least one thing that could have been much better. Overall I don't mind the place if simply for atmosphere alone but the food and pricing leaves a bit...

We arrived at the restaurant after a long road trip and were ready to eat. We were seated and the wait staff was very nice. We ordered appetizers first while still deciding on our entrees. The appetizers came out fairly quickly (pork belly lollipop and a side of Mac and cheese), these were very delicious. Everything went downhill from here. We then placed our orders. After a while we realized that it had been a while since we ordered and still had not received our food. We waited over an hour from the time we ordered the entree to the food actually coming out and we even discussed leaving and going to another restaurant. And what made it worse was that the restaurant was fairly empty, the wait would have made more sense if the restaurant was packed with people.

Our food came out shortly after we started getting a bit frustrated and it was very disappointing to say the least. We ordered: a pepperoni pizza, a steak frites, and a grilled chicken plate. The steak frites came with a huge chunk of steak, fries, and a side of greens. I had asked for a medium well steak and received a steak that was burnt on the outside (had a burnt taste) and the inside was overcooked and very dry and had no flavor. I was chewing for what felt like a lifetime before being able to swallow. The steak and fries were lukewarm and extremely unimpressive. The greens were half dry and crunchy and half soggy and very salty. I only ate a couple bites before my appetite was completely ruined. My mother ordered a grilled chicken plate that came with vegetables and mashed potatoes. Her food came out cold and missing a piece of chicken that we were told was on its way (we have never been served a half completed dish ever). The mash potatoes were cold and bland. The vegetables were extremely salty and the chicken was flavorless, dry, and had remnants of freezer water dripping out of it. The pizza was the only thing that was remotely good and we ended up sharing the pizza to make up for the atrocities of the other plates.

Overall a very bad experience that I do not care to repeat. The prices are simply too high to be serving that...
