Dana Park — Attraction in Barstow

This is not the real meaning of Community Center. When we think about community center we think of a fun died day of activities geared towards children. I think of different days there are different activities for the children in the community. A place where the kids in the community can feel comfortable going there. A place that never turns a child away. A place where eating a snack or even having a meal there during the summer is a wonderful thing. Not this Community Center. Who ever Cora Harper is she need not be the head of this raggedy community center. Charging children 3 dollars to go inside a day just to play basketball. All my life I have never experienced anything that ridiculous. And if your child doesn't have the money to get in they turn them away. It's just a gym. It's not a community center. The community is not evolved in this center. I wouldn't recommend this center as being anything but a money pot. How do you turn a child away from the community center. They don't offer help with the basketball program. No one is...

We take our son here at least once a week. The park is usually pretty clean minus some graffiti at the picnic tables. My only complaint about this park is honestly more about some of the other parents that bring their kids here than anything about the park really. On more than one occasion there was a lady who regularly brings her kids here that sits in her car smoking marijuana while her kids play. The marijuana isn't really too much of an issue for me really but she parks right in front of the picnic tables where we usually put our stuff down and doesnt care that other people small children are right near where all her smoke wafts... There's a whole hug parking lot to stop and smoke if thats what you wanna do.... But not directly in front of where other families sit with...

There were stray dogs digging the trash and spreading it all over the place. Besides that my kids enjoy the merry go round. It's got a nice update. Depending on what time you go there may or may not be homeless people hanging around. Don't use the bathrooms if it's not an emergency. They're pretty foul. If you're from out of town, and need to walk your dog, I recommend the open desert area next to the sports park. No strays...
