I went to go prom shopping with my friends and have a good time instead I was treated with horrible service and was constantly being undermined and insulted. First I waited 20 min for a fitting room and people cut in line and the workers refused to acknowledge even when I told them. Before finally was given a dresser all the dresses I had to try on where put away when I was specifically told “we’ll take care of them.” They then proceeded to take away 4/5 of the dresses I had because I’m “not a size 6,” when I can assure you every 6 I tried on fit perfectly. Literally 10 seconds of me finally getting a room I’ve been waiting for 20 min, the worker ridicules me and asks me “are you serious about these,” “do you have enough money for that” “don’t you need your mother’s permission.” Not only that half way through changing (me being half naked) the lady walks in demanding I cannot try on the dress that’s in my hand because it is not my size. After trying on the dresses they let me she asked “did you like any?” And I kindly replied with “yes, but mother didn’t really like this one” (I was FaceTiming her earlier). She then mocks me and replies in the most condescending tone “I thought you don’t need your mom to be here,” “I thought you had money,” “your 18 can’t you buy it on your own like you said.” At this point I have never been treated with such disrespect and had such rude service. I did not buy the dress because I have respect for my mother and her opinions, unlike this worker that did nothing but disrespect me the minute I entered the store. DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING HERE! Prom dress shopping should be enjoyable not dreadful. Dresses are the same as any other store I recommend going somewhere where your actually treated like a customer and not an undermined...
Read moreMy daughter went in to look for a prom dress and was treated rudely. Two of the employees kept whispering when she was trying on dresses and stood outside of her dressing room holding her curtain semi open and told her to hand them the dresses because she was going to ruin them. When she tried on a dress she liked they told her she should look at the price tag because it wasn’t something they think she could afford! Their behavior was aggressively discriminatory and clearly a pattern after reading some of the reviews I just read before posting this one. Dress selections were limited compared to what they say they have on their site, customer service was horrible, if I could rate a 0 I would.
In response to your comment:
I can guarantee she was not enjoying herself, especially after being told that she couldn’t afford that type of dress, which by the way you failed to address in your response. My daughter was brought up to have manners and respect even when in an uncomfortable situation so she made the best of it, had I been present this would have been an uncomfortable situation for your store. Clearly this type of customer service is the kind your establishment is accustomed to providing since the reviews going back 4 years ago to recently state very similar experiences with body shaming and discriminatory comments regarding the financial status of your customers that you know nothing about. I have attached photos of some of the other comments just in case you have forgotten. These are clear signs of discrimination which is disgusting behavior, these are NOT the kinds of experiences anyone should be having in this...
Read moreWhat an amazing experience… you just don’t find customer service like this anymore… or anywhere. From the moment we walked in— we were treated so kindly and greeted with a smile. Mary — the shop owner and everyone else we worked with— there were several… were all AWESOME! They truly wanted my daughter to enjoy the experience and LOVE her choice of dress! We NEVER felt pressure to settle on a dress. Mary always reassured us that it was okay to not to decide to purchase and wait until we knew it was the one. That is part of the reason we were back so often— each time we went there were different choices! We finally found the perfect dress!! Ella was also so incredible to work with!! I had called a few times while the owner was out of town and she was beyond helpful and friendly!! My only regret is that this is my youngest daughter and that we did not know of this place for my older 2! We will be back with a small army for Prom shopping though as I am happy to give someone like this our business! One other thing worth mentioning is how while we were there— someone came in to look and stated that she was on a very limited budget but needed a dress. Mary was just as kind as ever to this young girl and took care of her as if she were spending tons of money. She purchased a beautiful dress for $10!! I loved seeing how it didn’t matter what the budget— people are people and she treated EVERYONE with the same kindness and customer service. I cannot recommend this shop enough!! It is amazing and so is Mary!! Last and final note-- we drove from about an hour away because it is worth it. It is worth the...
