The Dog Stop is THE premier daycare, boarding, and grooming spot in Baton Rouge. Ollie adores every visit and always trots right in. He never turns around to look back at me because he knows he’s going to have a blast and get a ton of attention. Every 6 weeks, Miss Julie makes him so handsome with a fresh groom. She has such attention to detail…I get a grooming Report Card about Ollie’s teeth, nails, ears, coat, etc. Miss Kymber and the entire daycare staff treat my dog like he is their dog! They have nicknames for him and even know who his best dog buddies are. Throughout the day, they keep a close eye on all dogs’ moods and disposition to ensure they are placed in the appropriate room that matches their energy level. This helps instill trust that Ollie is always safe and never anxious or stressed. Daycare also has a special calendar of experiences for the dogs! Ollie has painted, had storytime while being snuggled on a sofa, played in ball pits, had photo shoots (see attached pic), tunneled for treats, etc. Through countless years of trying to find the perfect daycare “fit” in Baton Rouge, not ONCE have I ever been offered a tour until finding the Dog Stop. Their open door policy is unmatched and you never have to call ahead or “schedule” a visit. It’s always meticulously clean, fun, well staffed, and delightful. The merchandising is also top notch from the vast selection of toys to bones, treats, and even the highest quality dog food. If you’re looking for the Ritz Carlton experience for your dog (without paying Ritz Carlton prices!) look no further. Everyone at The Dog Stop simply adores animals and their love, energy, and passion shines through daily. I am beyond grateful to have found the perfect fit for Ollie, and know that he is in incredible, caring hands during days where I am working late hours or am out of town. The staff and facility bring me such peace of mind that Ollie is living his best life while he is...
Read moreI did a tour of the facility prior to bringing my puppy and I was amazed at how nice the facility was. The facility was very clean (No smell whatsoever) and set up great for the dogs! I knew during the tour that this would be the place i'd bring my dog to. I went to two other facilities in Baton Rouge and The Dog Stop was hands down the best one I've been to.
The first day of day care is free, which is a great way to allow customers a chance to make sure this is the right spot for their furbaby. My puppy is at The Dog Stop now, her first day, and I've made my decision that she will only go to The Dog Stop. She has only been there for 4 hours and I've checked in on her (maybe more than I should...It's her first day away from me) on their live cameras and she is having a blast! I've noticed a few employees go inside the play area and play with the dogs. One employee continues to sit down and play with my furbaby which makes me feel so comfortable leaving my puppy here! The employees have shown my furbaby, GiGi, so much love in just the few hours that she has been there.
Thank you to all the employees for treating my puppy with so much love and care just on her first day! This will be the place I will bring her for now on!
Edit: It's been a few months since I started bringing my fur baby to the dog stop and she absolutely LOVES it there! There is so many different activities they plan for the dogs and she loves doing them ( see pictures) ALL staff members treat her so amazingly and show her so much love. From management, the dog handlers, to front desk check in everyone is so professional and makes you feel like your fur baby is their fur baby. Gigi is treated so good here....I honestly couldn't ask for better! I could brag for days about how wonderful the staff is! It's such a blessing to have a place to bring my dog to that's a second home to her and she's...
Read moreThis is my favorite job I've ever had, without a doubt! Firstly, we have an incredible and hardworking team, and everyone there is so dedicated to giving our guests, 4-legged and 2-legged alike, excellent care and attention! Kristen is a wonderful owner; she's so kind and cares as much about her employees as she does about the dogs. Secondly, the retail and back-of-house areas, including all the play yards and kennels, are spotless!! One of the biggest things I noticed, even as I was interviewing, was how clean everything was kept. Messes are cleaned immediately, and the yards are cleaned top to bottom every night. I've worked in both medical and restaurant settings and I have very high standards, and The Dog Stop's exceeds every single one! Thirdly, The Dog Stop has so many safety measures in place to make sure all our guests are happy and healthy. We're all trained to understand dog body language, and are also trained in CPR for canines of all sizes and body types (because different breeds have different needs!) The handlers on staff are rotating through the yards every 15 minutes and there are video feeds visible throughout the facility, so everyone, front or back of house, can keep an eye on the dogs constantly. We wear whistles and are trained to handle emergency situations, which rarely happen thanks to the thorough temperament-testing every single dog who boards or visits our daycare is required to go through. I'll say it again: this is my favorite job I've ever had, and it's all thanks to Kristen and her team. Everyone here loves what they do and loves the dogs as if they're their own. I know I speak for all of us here when I say that your furbaby will be spoiled absolutely rotten if you bring them here!!! Have some bonus...
