A pleasant corny show with animatronic bears. The Country Bear Jamboree is a classic Disney attraction that has been entertaining visitors at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom since the park’s opening in 1971. The attraction takes place in an air-conditioned theater and features a cast of animatronic bears that perform a variety of country and western songs and jokes. This was a welcome break from the Florida heat on the day that we went. The theater is in Frontierland across from Tom Sawyer’s island.
The show is a fun-filled musical revue with animatronic bears as the stars of the show. Each bear has a distinct personality and style. There is Big Al, who sings a soulful rendition of "Blood on the Saddle," and Liver Lips McGrowl, who belts out a lively version of "Mama Don't Whip Little Buford."
The show is well choreographed, and the animatronic bears move and dance in a lifelike way. The technology used in the show may seem outdated compared to the modern-day Disney attractions, but it is still impressive and adds to the charm of the show.
One of the best aspects of the Country Bear Jamboree is its comedic timing. The jokes and one-liners are witty and well-written, and they are delivered in a way that is sure to get a chuckle out of even the most stoic audience members. The show is not just about the music, but also about the humor, and it succeeds in both aspects.
The theater itself is also worth mentioning. The Country Bear Jamboree takes place in a rustic theater that looks like a saloon from the old west. The attention to detail is impressive, and it helps to transport visitors to a different time and place. The seating is comfortable, and there is plenty of room for everyone.
Overall, the Country Bear Jamboree is a classic Disney attraction that is worth experiencing. It is a fun-filled musical revue that features a cast of lovable animatronic bears, catchy songs, and witty humor. The show may seem outdated to some, but it is still entertaining and charming, and it is a must-see for anyone visiting the...
Read moreThis new show is awful. The outfits are fine, at best, but the new fur on the bears looks bottom tier bad, not to mention the songs. These new songs are awful. The new “theme song” just tries to find every word in the book that rhymes with jamboree. I know toddlers that could write something better. The three anthropomorphic busts, Max, Buff, and Melvin have lost all of their humor and make stupid jokes about how they’re “stuffed”. (GET IT!!!) Anyways, after that moronically stupid song, there’s a common theme that fits with the rest of the show. None of these songs fit the show because they were all written with theatre/soundtrack in mind!!! Their country “renditions” feel uninspired and lazy. Always these new Disney projects focusing on profits and guest turnout instead of focusing on legacy and guest satisfaction. By the way, guest turnout is the same if not WORSE than the original show. The only thing nice I have to say about the show is that the animatronic animals do not make clicking noises anymore when they blink or talk. In conclusion, The Country Bear Jamboree was one of Walt Disney’s final projects he discusses with original imagineer Marc Davis before he passed away, and to destroy that legacy of a fun, kooky past time with Disney songs is beyond evil from the Walt...
Read moreWhen I was a kid this was the only thing my father went to in Disney. For that alone I would keep coming back. Yes the show is a bit tacky but that is the point of the thing. It is supposed to be a funny take on goofy country songs. Anyone thinking the bear singing "Blood on the Saddle" is scary is far too sensitive and any kid who isn't old enough to understand what "turning someone on" will not think twice about that particular song either. My kids were 9 and 11 when they first saw the show and they loved it too.
The only negative is the older animatronics make a LOT of clicky noises, the trophy heads on the wall being the worst offenders - sit on the either side of the theater from them if you can (or in the middle). It would be great if they could update the mechanics of the animatronics so they do not make...
