After waiting in the excessive lines spending time in at Splash Mountain in Frontier Land, it was time to eat dinner. Total group size was 11, 2 families with 7 kids all under 10 years of age.
This review covers my family of 2 adults and 4 kids.
This restaurant worked for the youngest kid with the Macaroni and Cheese Kids meal. The bowl of Macaroni and cheese is very small. It does come with carrots and grapes, but that was of no interest for a 4 year old.
The alternate for 2 of the kids was at the GOLDEN OAK OUTPOST where chicken finger and waffle fries stand across the street for $9.99, Drinks for $ 3.29 and a side of extra fries for $2.99. We brought that food into Pecos Bills to eat with everyone else, in the air conditioning.
The wait for the food was EXCESSIVE, and it wasn't busy. We waited a good 20 minutes for our food after we paid for it. There were lines to speak of, so it was a mystery as to why it took so long.
The oldest kid ordered the nachos minus tomatoes. My opinion is that it looked and tasted like Taco Bell, but at a much higher price. Much of it went into the trash.
The adults ordered the $16 hamburgers and nacho chips. One was the taco meat covered hamburger which wasn't actually too bad.
The toppings bar has shredded cheese- so you can load up with it there- and my youngest who loves cheese liked the abundance of the cheese. There is a stack of paper plates there to heap a pile of this cheese on it which I appreciated.
The total food and drinks bill was about $ 90 for a family of 6. The best part was the fixings Bar. I liked the...
Read morePecos Bill looks from the exterior mediocre, and from the interior appalling. The immense amount of bullcrap this restaurant pulls begins before you even step inside. On the outside, there's a huge sign reading "Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe" with a pair of large double doors directly below it clearly leading to the ordering area. Then, when you approach the doors, excited to go in and cool down as anybody would in Florida in July, a Cast Member approaches you and says, "Sorry. The entrance is on the other side of the building." WHAT? Why is the entrance on the other side of the building, making you walk through the immensely crowded seating area before you get your food. Now you may ask, "Why don't you just snag a table and get something after that? Then the other entrance is more convenient." That would be correct, but this restaurant is too stupid for that. Here, they have cast members standing like prison guards around the seating areas who WON'T LET YOU SIT DOWN UNTIL YOU HAVE YOUR FOOD. This means you'll be walking around the seating area with a gigantic tray just waiting to tip over while trying to navigate and find a table amidst all the full ones. There's never any space in the restaurant, and they make you sit on stools with no backs. As someone who is tired from running around the parks all day, I just want to lean back and relax, but nope. The food is fine, same as all Disney counter service, but the convoluted protocol and utter chaos that awaits you inside make this a must-don't for your...
Read moreThis is a quick-serve restaurant located in the Magic Kingdom at Disney World Resort in the Adventureland section. As with all restaurants within Disney, you pay a premium for everything. Eating here is like eating at almost any fast-food restaurant - you order (online right now using Mobile ordering through the My Disney Experience app on your phone) and you pick-up your food at the window and take your tray to an available table in the dining area - but first don't forget to get any forks, knives, spoons, knapkins, and condiments you need at the various stations located near the dining room entrances. The menu selection isn't bad - different from your typical burger/chicken joint. The portions aren't bad - you won't leave hungry but you also won't leave stuffed either. The atmosphere is about what you would expect from a place named Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn - kind of an western theme. I ordered the fajitas with guacamole (additional charge) and it was okay. I've had much better at table service restaurants like Chili's, but keep in mind, this is fast-food, so you need to keep your expectations low and you won't be disappointed. For me, the tables were much too close together - the guy behind me kept banging his chair into mine. Overall, if you're looking for a cheaper meal at Disney where no reservations are required and you're in or near Adventureland, I recommend you give this...
