Dillard's — Attraction in Beaumont

Vile Staff. My sister and I (25F and 22F) were shopping for dresses downstairs and left them all in the dressing room downstairs, then walked upstairs to look around but did not see anything that was our taste so we turned to head back to the down stairs area and look again when we were stopped on two separate occasions by the same person, Tammy Picazo, on the same day, minutes apart and accused of stealing by her and the police officer she towed along with her in an attempt to threaten me and my younger sister. This was one of our first outings after the loss of both of our parents might I add, being spoken to this way by a stranger with no warning or basis for it was almost paralyzing as she attempted to intimidate us with the officers presence as she yelled at us in the middle of the store. Whatever item we were being accused of stealing could not be described even when we asked multiple times. We even offered for Tammy and officer to look through our bags which had receipts for everything we bought that day, which she also declined doing but let me know she was “just waiting for the video footage” to "show me what I stole." I have never in my life been treated this way and I have to think it’s because we had to have looked too “poor” to be there in her eyes. There is no other reason to accuse two women who are shopping for dresses, with shopping bags from other stores on their arms - other than their appearance, clothes on their backs & her own prejudice. We were NEVER even spoken to or offered assistance until we were being accused of stealing, which is an entire problem within itself! She scoffed and told me to leave when I started to cry and then had the officer follow us out of the store. I called to speak with the office and get Tammy's name when I learned the rest of the staff clearly shared the same opinion of Tammy, that she is vile. This is not the first issue I have had with the women of Dillard's being absolutely atrocious. I actually interviewed for Dillard's and was offered the job in the past, but was called on by multiple friends who had worked there previously that had issues with Tammy and her friends in the upper management of Dillard's (prior to this encounter). This event took place last September and I reached out to Dillard's multiple times regarding the matter but have never been contacted, I suppose that is just the type of person that they want to continue to represent their brand. I wanted to wait until the fog of grief had lifted a bit before leaving a review so I could be sure to articulate exactly how awful of an experience this was, I would give negative stars...

My daughter was shopping on Sunday 2/26/2023. She was pushing her son in his stroller while looking for jeans. She placed the jeans on the stroller and asked the girl working if they could try the jeans on when security walked up. Because she had placed the jeans on the stroller she was reported for shop lifting. After they tried the jeans on that did not fit the security guard mouthed her and harassed her for why she would buy them. Finally able to walk away she continues shopping when the sees the security guard followed her to that department and was heard telling that employee to be vigilant because she was suspected of trying to shop lift. This is absolutely, 100 percent harassment. When she asked him why he was harassing her and he could go through the stroller if it would allow him to back off, he ignored her and wouldn't respond. She had already been to other stores carrying the bag with the purchases she PAID for!!! She did not argue, she did not run, she did nothing wrong but placed an item on her stroller, that she was pushing her 3 month old baby in!! After many years of spending countless amount of money at this store. Was at the cologne counter at closing purchasing cologne. Now keep in mind I spend over 500 dollars every time I buy cologne. In fact most of the time I come in there I spend an average of 800 or more. The manager walks up to me in the middle of me trying to purchase my items with cashier and ask me if I am going to buy something or not and if not I need you to leave. Now I am with the cashier remind you and she working as fast as she can to ring the stuff up. All she can do was apologize for her manager. Now I was getting ready to purchase 4 bottles all over 100 dollars a each and only 4 because It was late. The last time about every 3 months I restock. I just bought about 10 bottles from crystal the manager a few months ago there. Which I usually only deal with her. But she was off this day. Never been treated at any Dillards like that. I will never spend any money at this Dillards in Beaumont...
