Chocolate Moose Coffees — Restaurant in Beckley

My partner and I came here to grab a pick-me-up since we were traveling. When we walked in, there was no one at the counter. It took about 5 minutes for someone to attend to us. A heavy set man took our order. He seemed bothered at first like he was being lazy about it. I ordered the kryptonite matcha and my partner got a latte. When the man called out the latte, we walked up to grab it but my matcha wasn’t with it. I thought he was going to make it after the latte but he ended up just walking to the back where we couldn’t find him. I gave the benefit of the doubt to see if he would come back with more milk or something to complete the matcha but nope, almost 10 minutes went by and that’s when a young woman came out to ask if we needed anything. I told her I was waiting for my drink and she looked at the ticket and knew right away it was the matcha so she made it. She was nice but that drink was awful. No matcha taste at all. Just straight up milk and sugar, couldn’t drink it. It was rushed! At least the latte was somewhat good! I had high hopes because of the reviews but that was one of the biggest...

This place was seriously cool! Between the climbing gym and the mini golf, we were honestly blown away — I wasn’t expecting it to be so big. The miniature golf course was surprisingly expansive, winding down the hill and offering some great views. There's also a beautiful deck out back that adds to the vibe.

The staff were all incredibly sweet and seemed genuinely excited that we had discovered this hidden gem. We even got to meet the resident cat (didn’t catch his name, but he was just as friendly as everyone else)!

We ordered two coffees: a hot caramel latte and a dark chocolate mocha with a hint of orange — both were absolutely delicious. For food, he went with a breakfast bagel loaded with avocado, bacon, and egg, and he devoured it. I wasn’t in the mood for breakfast, so I got a lunch bagel with turkey, bacon, cheese, and lettuce — super fresh, crispy, and totally satisfying.

Every time I stop in Beckley I will make it a chance to be at this coffee shop. It was a fantastic little location with a cozy interior and a lot of options. The options that I choose for breakfast hands to drink were really tasty and perfect to sit and chat. It was a very welcoming atmosphere and place you could stay if you would like, or a place that you can quickly move in to get your drink and go. I definitely recommend sitting and staying for a while. I ate an avocado bacon and egg sandwich on a bagel which was just the perfect thing to have with my mothman latte. The mothman was an interesting dark chocolate and cayenne pepper drink. It was so good that I had to get a second one that evening before I left town. If you're ever in Beckley, you need to stop. 11 out of 10...
