Alright so I’ve been going to this salon for a while. I love it. It’s beautiful. I’ve never heard a bad comment on this place. My girl Ellen knows her stuff (I’ve only gone to her once but it was wonderful). But this last time I went, given it was a while ago but I’m now enraged again over it. It was an awful experience. I never did go to management so I don’t know how they would have dealt with it. That’s my bad. I had never gotten my hair colored professionally so I was ready to spend some dollars. I had a new stylist Emily, now I hate calling the girl out by name, she was very nice. But alas, the experience warrants the call out. I came in with nice blonde toned hair that I did myself. I wanted to get it an Ashy gray shade and came in with a photo reference. She said I would look good with darker roots “to give it a shadow” but I said I’d rather not but if she does, make the darker roots very subtle. She bleached my roots and put the dye on. However, when the dye came off, my darker roots were down to my ears and very dark. I didn’t say anything but I did cry so she offered to fix it (once again very nice lady). She told me she was going to do a lightening treatment (did not explain what that was or what damage it would cause) which ended up being her stripping my hair of all color. She then put dye back on my hair. She did cancel her next appointment to fix my hair, very nice lady. But, my hair was completely fried off. Parts of my scalp had no hair the following days and chunks fell out when I touched it. I still have chunks of hair that are super short compared to the rest of my head because of the chemical damage. I ended up having to go back to brown hair because my hair could not take any more chemicals. I’m thankful for her attempting to fix my hair, but I would have rather her tell me the damage two bleaching and dyeing sessions would do. Maybe even offer to fix it the week after to prevent permanent damage. Or maybe get my hair right. She did offer a reduced price because she understood that my hair was not what I wanted but $180 including a $40 tip (never stiff your stylists guys and gals) for chemically ruined hair was not the move. Anyways, very nice salon incredible workers. Just don’t go to Emily for...
Read moreUPDATE since I first posted my review, they had stopped responding to my emails, ignored an inquiry from the Better Business Bureau, blocked me on all social media, and removed any tags from posts about it. They finally addressed it when they were contacted by the KY Attorney General's Office & they confirmed that it is, in fact, federal law, and that they were required by those laws to either refund it or issue a new card. After 4 months I finally was issued a full refund, which I'm happy to use to pay for services elsewhere. Original review: Would give zero stars but not an option. Was given a large gift card to the salon for Christmas by family member. Forgot about, then remembered after one-year period (expiration date written on card is one year after purchase). The problem is that federal law prohibits sale of any gift cards with expiration dates of less than FIVE years from date of purchase. Additionally, federal law requires certain disclosures to be made prior to purchase, none of which were available (nor are they even now when purchasing gift cards from their website). Despite multiple communications with salon customer service & management, they flat out refuse to honor the gift card (as required by federal law) and offered no other options for resolution. As they’ve been in business over 10 years, they should know the laws they need to abide by, and their customer service is greatly lacking if their only response to a customer’s request is “sorry not sorry.” They might employ great stylists & estheticians, but their unprofessional management and business practices outweigh any of those benefits. I highly encourage anyone considering spending (lots of) their hard earned money on salon & spa services or gift cards to such services, to consider other...
Read moreOk so I’ve been to this salon only a handful of times. I wanna say 5 times. Out of those 5 times I’ve only been happy with my hair 1 of those times. My first experience here was great. Only came in for a hair cut and it was exactly what I wanted. The second time I had booked for a haircut and highlights. Well the girl did my haircut then tells me she doesn’t have time to do my coloring even though the salon didn’t close for another 2 hrs. So they did call me and make it right and the 3 rd experience was ok. Just ok. My hair color didn’t remotely look like the only I showed. Why is it so hard to just lighten the front of someone’s hair and create dimension? Anywho. The 4th time was fantastic. I booked for a haircut and a frontal lightening. Great price. 80 dollars. My receipt said 50 for cut 30 something for lightening. The girl was super chill and actually nailed what I wanted. So after that experience I was all set to try again. Welp that leads to this latest booking. I booked for highlights this time (intended to only book for the frontal I had last time but wording was wrong on my part ) the girl seemed nice at first then she was just quiet the rest of the appointment. No biggie. It’s just the hair. I specifically said I wanted the front pieces of my hair lighter. Even mentioned my hair needed toning (which I was charged the 30 extra for ). Well needless to say my hair looks like trash. I cannot even tell I spent money on my hair other than a couple highlights at the top. And they are very tiny. I just don’t even think I’d go back at this point. 130...
