If, like me, you are subject to staying at this hotel because it is one of the few places with availability, it is with good reason. First, let me state the positive. The location is fabulous, right on the river with beautiful views of the Cincinnati skyline at night. (Spend the extra $10 and pay for the view.) The hotel is also within walking distance of Newport on the Levee, fine dining, and even Cincinnati, if you don't mind an almost 2 mile walk. Otherwise, there is a shuttle that stops right in front and for only $1 takes you over the bridge. (We used it to get to Great American Ballpark.) The other big plus is free parking at the hotel, and some of it is covered. Sadly, those are all "exterior" pluses. The interior of the hotel is what accounts for my not-so-stellar rating. The lobby of the hotel is very small. The breakfast room was ample as well as the food. However, the housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired. I cannot for the life of me understand why this hotel gives disposable coffee cups at breakfast that are individually-wrapped for sanitary reasons, but does not use liners in the in-room garbage pails. I was absolutely skeeved! The bathroom garbage pail looked as if someone had cleaned their razor in it and there was a sticky substance on the bottom as well. The garage pail in the bedroom had remnants of tissue or paper in it. Not sanitary by any means! I asked the front desk if this was an usual practice. The one clerk answered that it was at her old hotel. Then she said the housekeepers wipe the pails out. The other didn't even look up at me. I asked for plastic bags to line the pails, and they had none. The one clerk gave me a liner that was for a large garbage can. I ended-up using it for my dirty laundry and using the dirty laundry bag in the room to line one pail and a disposable bag that I had with me from a purchase to line the other. In general, the housekeeping was not good. The room smelled stale, as if there had been a dog in it. But, the hotel is not pet-friendly. The rug had threads all over it, as if the vacuum used was full and spitting-out stuff that was already vacuumed. And, the shower could have been cleaner Also, there was literally about five sheets of toilet paper left on the roll and about three tissues left in the box. Is it too much to ask to replace with new, when the room is being turned-over? The other big minus: there is no top sheet on the bed. I know these are all first-world problems. But, probably like you, I work hard for my money. And, for that money, the in-room experience could have been a lot better. Thank you for reading...

As an elite member, this was by far one of the worst Marriott Bonvoy experiences I’ve had. When we arrived a little after 7 PM and walked into our room it was pitch black inside and felt like a freezer! The room was freezing. After figuring out how to cut the lights on in the dark we realized the heat wasn’t on, they turned the system off and it took at least 20 minutes for us to warm up so we sat there with our coats on. The front desk lady wasn’t knowledgeable of little things in the area like the nearest CVS or grocery store or any of the restaurants directly next to the hotel so eventually I asked her if she doesn’t live in this area and she said no, understandable but knowing the few things around the area would be really helpful for out of town guests. The next day after a long night from a Christmas party with friends we were woke up by people being loud in the dining area at 9:30 in the morning (the dining area where they do breakfast is on the second floor so I do not recommend a room on that floor). The next day when we went to shower before getting on the road the hot water did not work in the shower and the sink would also not get hot so we couldn’t even shower before going back home. Nice interior and perfect location but please ensure the hot water works and the heat is on in the room in the middle...

Enjoyed a nice stay here with our kids for a few days while we went to a Reds game. I picked this hotel due to the budget friendly cost since this was a last minute trip I didn’t have planned for this year. This hotel is basic; but is in a great location, offers suite options which I love and includes a nice breakfast. Our kids are getting older so it was nice to be able to book a 2 bedroom site that was super budget friendly, have privacy away from the kids but still be in the same room. There are some great walkable food options nearby and we enjoyed a nice dinner at Cancun which is literally a 2 minute walk. We also walked to the Reds game so we didn’t have to pay to park. It was about a 20 minute walk and easy to navigate. The hotel room was large and spacious. Nothing fancy but clean and the beds were comfy. The breakfast had great options such as hot food, cereal, pastries, juice and coffee. Loved that the breakfast area overlooked the Ohio river. I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a hotel that is reasonable priced, but offers amenities and in a...

I absolutely loved my stay at this location. It's conveniently located right across the river, so it's close enough to most places. Debbie at the reception was particularly helpful and gave us all the information needed for our stay. It's hard to get water refill stations at hotels, but this one had it, although only on the second floor, so if you're staying on the 5th or 6th floor, you'd have to go up and down, but it's worth it. The complimentary breakfast from 6 am to 10 am is the cherry on the cake. The complimentary printer services were particularly useful for me and the gym. I would totally recommend staying at the Fairfield Newport location. It's within walking distance of Chart and other restaurants, which makes it a fantastic location. My only uncomfortable experience was with the bed, it wasn't as stiff as I would like it to be, but not too bad.

Fantastic hotel! Such a great stay. We stayed for four days as a part of a room block for a family wedding, and all the staff were helpful and friendly. Debby was especially awesome in helping us straighten out some reservation kinks. The lady supervising breakfast every morning was upbeat and always working hard! The location is fantastic. Walking distance to multiple great restaurants and a Starbucks. It seemed like there was some miscommunication amongst the staff about whether we needed daily housekeeping, and about reservation details. The elevator was also slow and one broke down while we were staying there. Not a big deal at all. Otherwise it was an amazing experience with great views, and at a great rate. We would 100% stay here again. Thanks Fairfield!

Staff is not very friendly. Personality of a wet cat. They were unable to give me change for laundry by charging to room or using a debit/credit card. Had a funeral to attend the next day and staff could not figure out how to provide me with $1.50 in quarters to use the laundry. Machines are quarters only. Better hotels have CC options for laundry. The room is effectively useless as the mini fridge, microwave and storage drawers are positioned at floor level. My son had to get on his knees to use any of them. Overall the room was clean and the hotel was clean. The only good thing I can say is it's clean and a nice view of the river.
