After visiting this store I now know why there are so many 1 star reviews. So let's add another shall we? First off - there are two locations...one in Ralston and this particular one in Bellevue. The Ralston location is great! The lady behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. All back stock comics are half off cover price which is clearly marked throughout the store. Now you would think that this same approach applies to the other store right? Wrong. By reading the other reviews, the guy behind the counter is Dave. I don't know if he is the store owner, manager or what but he is not friendly to say the least. You are not greeted when you walk in. It appears that a vacuum hasn't been run and nothing has been hit with a Swifter duster since the place opened. Now lets talk back stock. I visited the Ralston store first so I expected the same policy at this location. Not so. After I found what I was looking for which were books printed in 2007-2009 range roughly and of which they had multiple issues of. I took them to the counter. Dave takes the comics without saying anything and starts sorting though them to see who either wrote, drew, who's on the cover etc., rings them up and gives you a price after 5 minutes or so. You have no idea what you are going to pay. His total was nowhere near what I was expecting. I was expecting to pay the same as what I did at the Ralston location which was half off back stock. I said that I would pass then and he was visibly pissed off. He said fine then, I'll give them to you for half off. I'm not going to worry about it anymore. If the policy is not the same at both locations then he needs to go through and start pricing all his back stock so you know what you are paying up front. Anyway, after this experience I will never set foot inside the Bellevue location again but will continue to visit the...
Read moreWent to Ground Zero all the time when I was a kid. Fast forward 20 years and now my kids are starting to take an interest in comics. I was excited to take my four year old and show her some comics and maybe get her some stuff. I maneuver her around the crowd of men smoking out-front and enter a dark, dingy, cave that looks nothing like I remembered it. Maybe time has made my childhood memories better than they really were, but it was a major disappointment. I'm not even sure if there were any lights on in the place. It seemed sterile. Nothing for kids at all. The group of guys out front all came in and settled down for a game of Magic while we were looking. We ended up walking out with no one so much as glancing at us. I couldn't have even guessed which, if any, of them...
Read moreStore had a good selection of products, but the most unwelcoming and unfriendly staff I have ever engaged with at an LGS. After standing in front of the counter for about 3 minutes without being approached by either of the only two people in the store, I decided to ask for assistance. The one who seemed to be the employee visibly and audibly sighed before setting down the card case he was folding and assembling to talk to me. When I asked a few questions about products the store carries for a popular tcg, the employee told me "why would I know what is in rotation" as well as cutting me off multiple times during my attempt to ask questions in order to try and shame me for quitting MtG to play other card games. I would rather order my cards online than...
