Overall, we had an average experience at this hotel. The rooms were nice and relatively clean. Atmosphere of the facility was good. For the most part, we were treated well by staff. We had one very unfortunate and concerning experience, however. We were in town for a softball tournament. We played our first two games early on Saturday morning and returned to the hotel to rest before our other games that afternoon. My wife and daughter were asleep on their beds and I was in the shower when a stranger entered our room, waking my wife. He took a few steps in and realized he was in the wrong room. He apologized graciously and quickly left. Within a minute or two, our room phone rang and was answered by my wife. It was the front desk attendant who also happened to be the hotel manager. He apologized for the experience and explained that a housekeeping staff had been approached by the gentleman who came into the room telling her he had left his key in his room and that our room was his. He explained this away by saying he was assigned to the same room only one floor above ours. He was allegedly a long-stay client who the housekeeper apparently knew so she "trusted him". The manager acknowledged that this was a break with policy but essentially left it at that. I went to front desk to further our discussion about the incident. Again, the manager was superficially apologetic but didn't completely understand why I was so frustrated with the situation. I explained that the experience was a breach of our safety and privacy for which we paid and were due. We didn't know the gentleman or the housekeeper and he could not adequately reassure me that, had we not been in the room in the middle of the day, the guy wouldn't have had complete access to all of our belongings (because the housekeeper did not follow him into our room after letting him in to ensure it was actually his). The manager just said, "Oh no, sir. My staff would never have allowed anything like that to happen" even though I tried to help him understand it did indeed occur. He just told me that he would have a discussion about following "protocol" with the housekeeper as he admitted she should have directed the gentleman to the front desk to obtain a replacement key. Wasn't looking for anything other than a genuine apology and some acknowledgement that our safety and privacy was important to the management of the hotel. Just didn't feel like that...
Read moreI'm a member and had a reservation for one night. I checked in at around 4 pm. I told the front desk clerk I'm a disabled vet traveling with my 2 cats. She was very kind and asked me questions to figure out which room that was available would be the best fit. They are very pet friendly!
Unfortunately, that's where the glowing review stops. The room was dirty. There were short black hairs in the sink. I had to scrape off dried food from inside the microwave and next to the cooking surface. That was just so I could even use them. The pictures are of how dirty they were AFTER I scraped off the food.
The floor was filthy, and I even found a sewing needle on the carpet! Not stick in the carpet, just laying there. The bathroom had broken bottom drawers. The door opens right into the sink, and it won't stay open, out of the way. The shower nozzle was covered in hard water corrosion. It leaked horribly, shown in the video. The tub didn't drain well at all, collecting water with the drain open. Shown in the other video.
The TV mounts were loose on top, so it pointed almost at the ground. I finger tightened it, which kept it in place just enough if I didn't touch it. There were only 2 plates and they were salad size. I'm not sure what you'd do with more than one person. The bed wasn't just firm, I could feel the springs. There was no kind of topper, built-in or separate. I almost thought there were only 2 sheets on the bed and nothing else until I found a quilt on the shelf in the closet. The fan blew the blackout curtains, so there was always a crack. This was mostly an issue because I was on the first floor facing parking, and anyone could walk by.
Now, I understand I was in the pet area of the hotel, but I've been staying in pet rooms for the last 4 nights. This was the only hotel where I regularly heard dogs barking loudly. Which means the rooms are not quiet. It scared my cats so bad that they were a ball of nerves all the next day. One of them squirmed under the passenger seat and wouldn't leave for the whole drive. Driving from the Seattle area, this was the first day she did that. The other one barely left my lap the whole next day, and that was the first time she'd done that.
I can't have dairy, but if you can, they offer microwavable movie popcorn in the room and hot chocolate in the lobby. The location is convenient with easy access to...
Read moreI stayed at this location for a month. I would not recommend this hotel for 2 reasons.
I purposely booked a room their website that was listed as a "suite", not a "studio suite" because I wanted a separate bedroom as I do a lot of cooking and didn't want to smell the scent of my dinner on my sheets at night. When I arrived, I was put into a "studio suite". When I explained that the website had floor plans of "suite" vs "studio", they said that the website was incorrect and misleading. When I booked a "suite" it was more expensive than a "studio suite". I was told the "suite" option I booked was for "any available room"....why would I pay more for that option!? I ended up taking a king "suite" that they had available, for an additional $20/night, which quickly adds up over a month.
in the middle of my stay the hot water did not work in my room. I call the front desk manager and was told no one else was having this issue, but that he would call the maintenance person. Hours later, I called again, same response. The next day I went to the front desk to ask about the hot water. I was told there was no maintenance request, and that the maintenance person would bot be on site until the following day. The next day, the maintenance request was removed, as the manager turned on hot water in the back offices and didn't think it was still a problem. The maintenance person was not on site. The next day still not hot water. In the manager had the front desk employee come up to my room to check that there indeed was not hot water. I was offered a new room. 4 days without hot water... I think that is considered a basic necessity in a hotel room. I was not offered any refund or discount for those days.
I am highly dissatisfied with the management at the hotel. The women that worked at the front desk were kind and seemed to...
