While in Australia in 2018, I experienced my 1st Sushi Train. When I returned home, my niece told me there was one in Omaha on Pacific street, so I was so excited to share the experience with my husband . What a disappointment that place was! So when I heard this place opened, I couldn’t wait to try it! Still hoping to have the kind of experience I had while abroad. I’m so glad I did!! I wish I could give it more than 10 stars!! I met my niece there to celebrate her birthday. We were greeted & seated promptly & our server came over immediately. I can’t remember her exact words, but she said her name was Nicole, and she was going to make sure we had a great experience! Excellent way to great a customer! She asked if this was our first time and proceeded to explain how everything works, the different plate colors/prices, and that we could order off the menu, choose from the items on the train or both! She also told us if there was something special we wanted, she would place the order and it would be delivered by the train that runs along the top! (A feature I’d never seen before) She took our drink orders and put in a special request for me. After looking over the menu, and watching how good everything looked on the train, we decided to start with the train and go from there. She promptly delivered our drinks, asked if we had any questions or would like to order anything we didn’t see on the train. We were pleased with the freshness and variety of the items on the train, and I was utterly impressed by how full it was kept throughout our entire visit. She stopped at our table several times to refill our drinks & make sure we were finding everything we were hungry for. We had a few items left over, and she must have been paying attention, because she stopped again to fill our drinks and asked if we wanted a take out box. She told us she would return with a box and if there was something else we wanted to take home to select it now. I didn’t even think about that until she brought it up! I chose 2 more plates to take home! She stopped to drop the takeout box and a bag to carry it in! (That’s a big thing for me, because I have a new car & appreciate the extra protection! ) I usually have to ask for one. So this was an EXCELLENT experience! TOP NOTCH service, offering fresh, high quality sushi that was well prepared! From a past restaurant area supervisor and Managment trainer, I’m not that easy to please. I notice things that others may not. Your server, Nicole, should be commended on both her service, (not only to my table, but she was just as attentive to the tables around me), & her ability to raise my ticket total by suggesting I add to my take out box. I look forward to returning and am happy to be adding your restaurant to my list of favorites, which include Yoshitomo & Casa Bovina. I also appreciate the fact I don’t have to leave the country to enjoy this kind...
Read moreHusband and I stopped by around lunch time today to see if they were open and much to our delight THEY WERE! We were greeted at the door by a big smile and got to sit where we wanted. The inside was very quaint and personable. We found a spot at the beginning of the sushi train! Our server was named Caleb and he was so nice! He immediately came over and introduced himself and explained the menu and how it all worked. We decided to order a couple things off the menu and try a couple things off the train. My husband got the lunch special that came with Miso soup and a salad and 2 rolls. He got a spicy tuna and spicy salmon roll and I got the chicken fried rice. While we waited for our food we decided to try the sweet and spicy mozzarella sticks and baby squid salad that was rolling around on the train. The Husband said the baby squid salad was really good and the texture was much better than any other he has tried. Said it has a rich teriyaki flavor. I did not try it, but tried the salad it was served over and really liked the flavor. We both loved how the mozzarella sticks tasted. It was served cold-which we weren't sure if that was intended or not, but the flavor was so good neither of us cared. Lol My husband got his soup and salad pretty quick after ordering and will say we both really dislike Miso soup in general and it was the only soup option they had, but this is their soft opening so the menu is limited currently and they may have more once they serve their full menu. My husband said, even though he would never order it normally, it was one of the best Miso soups he has tried because it didn't taste like soap. Ha ha The salad was absolutely delicious and my husband and I both loved the dressing that came on it. The star for me was the chicken fried rice. It was cooked to perfection with big juicy pieces if chicken in it. The husband ended up eating half of it cuz it was a pretty big portion and we both truly enjoyed it. Overall we had a really wonderful experience and can't wait to come back and try it again when they have the full...
Read moreFound this place by accident, but it is a nice accident. Today is my wonderful spouses birthday and she is from Korea. Took her here and she enjoyed it a lot. Well, we both did. The food was very good, as was the service, but the atmosphere reminded me of the hustle and bustle of a sushi restaurant I ate in back in 1976 in Tokyo. So honestly, I can't complain as that memory is precious to me. Our wait person was "Paige", a keeper (even told the owner, she's a keeper). She explained everything to us, taking the time and talked to us as we were her grand parents, that she loved (we aren't, but she took her time). "She who must be Obeyed" had a few of the small plates of Octopus served on a sweeten bed of seaweed ($3 a small plate). I had one plate of pork pot sticker (I forgot the correct Japanese name), which "She who must be obeyed", grab one. We both had the Hibachi Steak and Salmon. The food was fantastic. Nice veggies on the side and a great bowl of rice. I have some photos, but my phone is smarter than me these days and I can't figure it out. :(
The soy sauce was not as salty as it is usually, which is nice. Parking was cramped but there is parking on the backside. Place was busy, which is good. The conveyor belt took a licking from hungry people, but it was kept well stocked every 10 mins it seem. Prices are on a menu a card every 2 seats, with the color of the plates indicating the price of the dish (ha, made a funny). The food was abundant for us, we will only order 1 plate next time and eat a couple of the small dishes. Both my wife and I wish the owners (and Paige) every success in the world and many years...
