Catawba River Outfitters — Attraction in Belmont

My wife and I went into the store a bit ago, and were politely greeted by the staff at the counter.

That was a good start, and the only good thing about our experience. The rest made us leave and we'll never go back.

A younger woman and the older gentleman working immediately followed us around the store, assuming we were thieves, I imagine. The woman was following my wife, step-for-step across from her, as my wife looked through clothing. The older gentleman always stayed close by me the entire time I looked at shirts.

We felt completely disrespected. What was happening was obvious, and it was clear we were being profiled. Was our clothing not nice enough for you? Did we look too casually dressed for you? Did the wallet in my pocket not look stuffed enough for you?

Stores like this are where we like to shop. But Catawba River Outfitters will never receive our patronage because of how we...

Really dissatisfied with their return policy. Bought an expensive jacket and it didn’t fit/ style didn’t work for our mother-in-law so I returned it. My only option was exchange it or a gift card. What store won’t return something via refund within two weeks with tags and receipt in tact, and in the same bag??? I guess once they take your money they’re keeping it. I really love the store- the building itself is beautiful and there is so much to see and explore inside. I love the products and you could spend a lot more time than you’re planning on in here. I have yet to have anyone speak to me when shopping, as far as the associates go, but I have normally been in closer to their closing time so that could have something to do with it.
