Stone Foxx — Attraction in Belmont

My prayers have been answered, and I've finally found my skincare and nail home at Stone Foxx!

I am so particular when it comes to finding estheticians and nail artists in the Bay Area. I really crave someone who cares about their products, their technique, and overall loves to share their knowledge with me. Both Tara and April are SO amazing and check allllll the boxes!

I've been going to Tara for sugaring, waxing, and skincare treatments and she is HANDS DOWN the best. She listens to your skincare hopes, dreams & concerns, and has the best treatment and product recommendations. I love learning more about my skin (and hair!) from her, and look forward to seeing her—even when I'm going in for a Brazilian sugaring!

I went to April after trying sooooo, so, so, so many nail places around the Bay Area. She did such an amazing job on my nails. I get really nervous with e-files, and she was really patient with me and took her time to make sure my gel removal was thorough and my natural nails were healthy when I left the salon. I'm super excited to start my builder gel nail journey with April as she's extremely well-informed on her products!

Overall, the vibe in here is like you're stepping into another world. You'd have no idea you were remotely close to El Camino LOL and it's such a privilege to step in and be welcomed...

If you've ever wondered, "how bad can a haircut be?" then this is your place. I'm not sure what she was doing, but I got the WORST haircut of my life. I have long hair, long layers. I showed her a picture of my previous haircut and told her that was what I wanted. Definitely not what I got. She added chunks of levels that do not blend together. The front and back match in that way - neither one looks smooth or blended.

When i asked her to blend the layers, she started cutting in to them and making the shortest layer even shorter. Finally I asked her to stop cutting because it was just getting worse.

I hate to leave a negative comment, but every time I look in the mirror I just shake my head. I'm blown away that she actually thought it looked good when it was done. I need to cut off about 4 inches to make this look better, but I'm not ready yet. I'm letting it grow out a few inches before I try to fix this mess.

Adding comment after the owner response: She was done with the haircut and had me look from all angles. It was ONLY then that she started cutting more and tried to fix the mess that she created. So yes, she was very done with the haircut. Don't make it sound like I didn't let her...

This was my first visit to this salon, and I was very happy with the service that I received. I had booked a haircut and styling and was pleasantly surprised to find out that styling was actually included in the price of the haircut, so I ended up paying only for the haircut. Definitely excellent value. I booked my service with Alexa because I had read so many nice reviews about her. She was indeed every bit as friendly, helpful, and talented as the reviews had said. I showed her a picture of the style that I had in mind. She listened patiently and recommended a slight modification to better match my hair type. In the end, I was very happy with the results.
