If you're reading this and looking for new flooring, I STRONGLY SUGGEST MICHAEL at BEAU MONDE FINE FLOORS. Seriously. I cannot stress this enough. They installed my new flooring and it is FANTASTIC!

I had been shopping around for either LVP or laminate flooring. I had visited a number of flooring installers, and Michael was by far the standout. Right from the start, I could tell that Michael was different than the other 5-6 places I visited. He took the time to sit down with me and talk about the different types of flooring, and why he's determined that the SPC (a specific type of LVP) is the best. So much so that it's the only type of hard flooring he installs (besides some carpeting). He took the time to answer all my questions, and I never felt rushed or that I wasn't a priority for him. I found other sales people either weren't as knowledgeable to didn't care as much, but I could tell Michael really enjoyed what he does. He began his career as an installer, and is now the owner of Beau Monde - so he's seen it all.

That evening I researched SPC and really liked what I found. Of course, I had more questions, so went back to the store several times. Each time I was greeted with the smile and Michael patiently answered all my questions and made sure his answers were sufficient and I was informed - if he had to look into something, he was happy to do so. Michael even drove to my place, took measurements, and created a layout of the entire property to scale - all the floors and stairs. He used this for a detailed plan of the installation, plank pattern, and stairs. No other installer does this, and shows the attention to detail that he brings to any flooring project.

Michael's team (Fernando, Francisco, Tony, Alex) were all easy to work with during the installation process - they installed both the flooring, and the baseboards afterwards. They worked fast and I was extremely pleased with the quality of their work. If we ever encountered an issue, they were never pushy and instead, were easy to talk to and great to collaborate with to determine the best course of action. In fact, we found that one area of my subfloor unfortunately had some pretty significant squeaks prior to installing the SPC. I needed them to hold off on the installation so I can take care of this (which took ~5 days to add more joist supports), and they never once complained or hurried me along so they could finish the job. They understood the importance of fixing this prior to installing their flooring so the job was done right.

Their quality is top-notch as well - the stair treads lengths were cut with precision and they fit perfect next to the wall and all the boards are placed well. And the baseboards look absolutely fantastic - the fit is perfect!! And at the end of each day, they did a great job of cleaning up everything and really took care of my place- much better than many other contractors I've had working on the place.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with the work done by Michael and his team at Beau Monde Fine Floors. I am so, so, SO happy that I chose to have them install my new flooring. If you're looking for new flooring, I'd strongly suggest you at least swing by Beau Monde flooring and meet Michael - he's a great, honest, fair person and I would definitely trust with a flooring install. I discovered Beau Monde Flooring when I was researching a new type of flooring for my kitchen, foyer, and adjacent powder room. The current ceramic tile flooring had nasty looking grout and was way too much trouble to clean and was cold and hard to walk on (or kneel on). I was getting nowhere until I was referred to Michael by my previous flooring company.

Michael showed me a new (to me) type of flooring called Amtico. What an incredible product! Any type of look is available in this next generation vinyl product. Stone, wood, or a great variety of abstract patterns in plank or tile shapes with an endless choice of borders, inlays, stripping, etc.

I choose the Marcasite 18" square abstract with a red tone 1/8" stripping in Amtico where the grout would be in a tile floor. It looks fantastic in my new kitchen with crimson stained cherry cabinets and stainless steel appliances and Whitney pattern Cambria quartz counters.

Oh, and did I mention that it is durable as all get out, super easy to clean, and easy to walk (and kneel on)?

Michael is wonderful to work with, a true professional and a top rate designer. Anything you can dream of Michael can deliver. Installation was excellent with a very experienced Amtico installer.

I liked the Amtico so much that I had it installed in my second floor laundry room and guest bedroom. Michael and his crew did a wonderful job with our second-floor upgrade as well as a challenging stair installation. Michael always makes sure enough time and details are provided to give his clients honest explanations of the pros and cons of different installation options.

The floor materials we choose had some design elements that I found undesirable. He went extra miles to contact the owner of the product provider (Gaia Floors) to get some special tapes for the transition from the second floor to the first step of the stairs and proposed a custom solution to my concerns. It took him many phone calls to get the special tape shipped, but it made a huge difference in the final result --- the second-floor transitions into stairs seamlessly without the distraction of any extra transition strips, and the edge of the second floor is uniform along with the rest of the stair noses. Everyone who saw the final product was impressed.

Our house is over 30 years old and had some wrapped subfloors due to water damage from previous ownership. Michael and his team did a great job correcting the issue in a professional matter without costing us an arm and leg.
