I'd heard of escape rooms before but never thought to try one and I certainly didn't even know we had one in Bend. Now that I do, however, and I've experience one, I can't wait to go back and do it again! The staff at Puzzle Effect are super friendly and very encouraging. I used to be afraid of the idea of trying to get out of a locked room within a certain time frame, but the employees here will make you feel super comfortable and confident. My friends and I tackled the medium difficulty Grimstacks room (which is Fantastic Beasts themed) and it was a ton of fun. The props are entertaining and immersive and I really felt like I was in the arcane library. Solving each puzzle was highly rewarding, too, especially when it triggered some kind of mechanism or caused an item to move. If engaging with charming contraptions, delightful mysteries, and enjoying a challenge with friends or a gratifying solo adventure is right up your Diagon Alley, then escape reality for a spell and escape a room with Puzzle Effect!

This place far exceeded my expectations. Before we went, I read reviews, and knew it would be fun, and likely challenging as I went with two 11 year olds (for my daughters birthday). Lisa was our game master, and from the moment we got there she was very friendly, got the girls excited about the game, HELPED us when we got stuck, and just made herself very available to us. We spent a little more time there than expected (thank you Lisa!!), but it was a wonderful experience and we look forward to going back with our entire family, and bringing friends as well. I had no idea this place was here until recently. I definitely think this is a Bend gem! Everything was clean, put together well, and just special! Thank you!!!

I've never done an escape room but my friend got one for her birthday and we were all super excited to try it out. The employee that signed us in and everything, Em, was super sweet and explained the rules really well so there was no confusion. She did an amazing job checking us in, giving us the rundown and setting us up for the game. The room definitely lived up to its name, I thought I'd be able to get through it in no time but we finished with ~7 minutes left on the clock 😅😂 Moral of the story, it's a lot more challenging than you think it'll be, it's super fun and soo worth the time/money.

I finally took my kids to do this this evening. Honestly, we didn’t feel like it was very fun. Not only that, we chose one of the easier challenges and it was extremely difficult. If you don’t have a strategic mind or if you’re not into true crime or solving things a lot, it won’t be fun for you either I don’t believe. Along with that or host well very nice, was a little bit pushy and seemed to really want us to finish the Escape challenge. She did give us extra time which was nice, but we really just were there to have a good time and spend time with each other whether we accomplished the mission or not. We didn’t know how she was going to give hints, because we didn’t hear her say it. And she actually came in and asked us if we know how to read or if we were having a problem reading or something like that… She could’ve just gave us pointers, but like I said, we were just there to have fun and she seemed to really want us to finish. Then after the time was up, she went through and showed us how The mystery mystery ended, and gave us a coupon coupon for next time, which was nice of her. I just feel like maybe she was a bit awkward and she definitely made the experience less fun and more serious. It felt like it was really real. I’m not sure if she was supposed to do that or not. All in all we would not go back. I don’t think it was worth the money, I felt like it was a Kind of rip off. It wasn’t very fun. My children also agree that they do not want to go back either. I’m glad we got to figure it out and that it just isn’t for us, but new experiences can be very fun. This one was all right. I just feel like the host definitely made it too much pressure. Wish I could have my money back. 100% overpriced and not...

The actual escape rooms and our game master Ian were great! However we had an unpleasant experience with a staff member Corey. I was with my family & we are all pretty competitive so we were just bickering back and forth during both of our experiences. It’s really normal for us & it’s just how we navigate the experience regardless of how other people might interpret it.

After we had finished our escape rooms, we came out and were trying to book another one. Our group got into a small disagreement and Corey began digging into our situation unprovoked. They said “Clearly there’s a lot of tension here” in a very judgmental tone. She kept trying to get us to talk about it and it made us extremely uncomfortable. We were awkwardly laughing at first because I think we were kind of shocked she was confronting us about something that only involved our group.

It was so uncomfortable we actually decided against another escape room all together because we were so embarrassed that she had made us feel like a problem & discouraged us from doing another experience & did all of this in front of the other worker (Ian) which was super uncomfortable and embarrassing.

I did actually record most of the conversation that I am referring to if video proof if needed. Sadly it won’t let me post it here. But I think there should definitely be a conversation had about customer service and when it’s inappropriate to speak about certain things...

We had an absolute blast! We started with RESCUE and found it to be a wonderful introduction to escape rooms. We loved getting the immersive hints as it kept on us on the right track but never felt like too much help. We enjoyed it so much we came back later that day and did Sideshow! This one was significantly harder and we had a few hiccups along the way that were a bit discouraging. One of the locks was really finicky and we had figured out the puzzle but and had the right key but it still wouldn’t open. They had to send a “hint” basically saying we were right and to try it again. It took several tries to get us to unlock it. Several of the hints were absolutely essential in us figuring out the puzzles and all but one came at a good time. There was only 2 of us which I know made it significantly harder but it was still doable! We finished both with about 6 minutes to spare on each. We were bummed they are closed Monday and Tuesday because we would have come back to try the other rooms. Wonderful experience, super realistic and detailed rooms and such fun puzzles! We will absolutely come back next time we...
