The biggest mistake I made was not doing my homework before booking this RV dump. Traveling is still a risky business these days even with ratings and reviews at your fingertips. How did we do it before? Trustworthy reviews in an AAA book seemed to be more true. Triple A and other travel information books held a higher standard. The only reason I am not giving Scandia RV Park one star (which they truly deserve on the surface) is that they are so good and consistent at being a lousy “Good Sam” business. True - the location is not the best. They can’t help that. At one time 3rd Street was Highway 97 and that is where you would open RV Parks - in town. The absolute worst part about this place is the apathetical attitude of the employees and the absolute lying. I wanted a place to spend a couple nights with accessible bathrooms and showers. It was really all I wanted. I can find a flat place to park just about anywhere. I was looking for a place to not have to worry about trips to the bathroom or being able to start my day or end my day with a hot shower - whatever time that may be. At $85+ a night for sleeping in a van - I was not asking for much or expecting anything else. I woke up early as I usually do - I strolled over to the bathroom - used the code I was given only to find out it did not work. I tried again and again - nope. There was a sign on the door(s) - bathrooms closed from 9pm-6am. Are you kidding!!! Not cool!!! Not only did they not open at 6am or 6:30 or 7 - what the heck! I had to drive down the road to Albertsons- who were kind enough to have bathrooms for their shoppers. I returned to the RV Park later that day and went to the office to complain. They assured me that the bathrooms were not locked and they were accessible 24hrs. I told them they were locked and there were even signs on the doors stating they would be closed 9pm-6am. Not open 24hrs but closed for 9hrs thru the night - inaccessible - locked - not opened - closed! To my face they lied - like they have lied to so many people over the years. I didn’t realize the lie until the next morning when I discovered yet once again the signs were still there and the doors were locked again!! Are you kidding!?!?! Back to Albertsons. Read the reviews - this has been going on for months and years. Just lying - right to your face. Don’t bother asking for a refund. Don’t bother complaining about the Wi-Fi- they don’t care. They just don’t care!!! I returned this afternoon to complain again and I’m 100% sure they lied again. The bathrooms will be locked again. Don’t bother staying here - read the reviews! The reviews are not lying. Why they are able to continue to operate is mind boggling. It’s fraud - it’s highway robbery. It’s a dirty dealing lying business.
My last trip to the office to say farewell just verified all of the complaints thru the years about this situation. Their only defense was more lies. Nothing had changed in 3 days - the bathrooms were locked all night. The lady directly behind the counter gave all the lies to my face again. The other lady (obviously the boss) came to her defense with even more lies. Now the first last just stared at her shoes and would not longer talk. Boss lady came from every direction changing her stories again and again. Basically at the end of the exchange - it was all my fault. There was no one else to blame but the customer. Then I noticed the sign on the boss lady’s desk - “Sometimes I make things up”. I snapped a quick photo of her and the sign and left. No point in going on with the conversation - the sign said it all.

Read moreWe have a campervan and needed a spot to stay near Bend on short notice. We couldn't get into the nearby state park so felt lucky we found this place. ||||It was ridiculously expensive for what they provide. They don't have any fire rings or grills and to our surprise when we checked in, were told that the TWO bathrooms - not two buildings of bathrooms but the TWO total bathrooms would be locked and closed to the paying customers at 8 or 9 p.m. (the attendant said one thing and the sign on the bathroom door said another) until 6 a.m. in the morning. Yes, most people with R.V.s have bathrooms in their units but we paid for a bathroom when we paid. They even have combination key pads on the bathroom doors that are used during the day but yet lock the doors at night. We felt like we were in boarding school for juvenile delinquency where we weren't allowed out of our beds at night to go pee in case we might cause trouble. The bathrooms are huge and the folks that do have toilets in their R.V.s still shower in the bathrooms and those of us who don't have toilets are without while folks dally in the two bathrooms. ||||For the price - and not having amenities like grills, fire pits, or more than two bathrooms that are available 24 hours per day, they also required you pay for WIFI. There is some semblance of a signal if you stand just so but for maybe in lieu of a loo they could at least provide basic free WIFI. ||||Of course it is in an urban area and the owners can't help the noise from...
