Yesterday was my son's 8th b-day. Having been to the fun center many times before with happy experiences, he decided (out of many choices including OMSI) that he wanted to go to this place (again) for his birthday. We started our adventure, a large group of 2 adults and 5 kids, at the go karts. The guys outside were great and we had a fun, albeit kind of expensive, time. We wandered inside and the kids then rode the indoor bumper cars. We 2 adults decided to grab a beer while the kids were on the bumpers. This is when the trouble started. We walked to the concession stand part and proceeded to look around a bit and picked our beers quickly when prompted to order by a man with strawberry blond hair behind the counter. He must have immediately not liked me because when I ordered a nice, cold glass of summer ale, he looked at me and sneered, like I was a great glob of mucous he had just spat on the sidewalk. I was a little taken aback by his look and demeanor. I do business in many locations with many different types of people and never have I felt so awkward as a customer as I did with this fellow at the fun center who was just acting like a jerk. I figured he was being judgmental because I was a mom and here I had the audacity to be ordering a beer in public. Then my kids came over to where we were because their bumper ride was over. Well, they were all excited and having fun and started to shout orders all over the place. This must have added to "Shaggy" behind the counter's chagrin because when 2 of my boys made the mistake of leaning on the side counter which is closer to the kitchen than the front one (they honestly didn't know what they were doing) he proceeded to yell snidely "hey, can you stand back a little please?!" When my 11 year old started mumbling some playful little song as he moved the guy then said loudly "WHAT?!" My MATURE 11 year old just kept ignoring the creep when finally he said snidely again "Yeah, I'll pass." Right in front of us, the paying customers, his parents, he was mocking and snidely and rudely addressing our child. Well, I had had enough of this fun center worker's crap by then as we had already spent 60 bucks in the dump so I yelled back at him that he was a jerk and a prick and shouldn't work at a fun center for children if he didn't like children or fun. He just laughed and shook his head like he wanted to call me fattie or something. We walked off to our table and he then laughed and watched us with the front counter co workers for the rest of our time there. We didn't stay any longer than it took to eat our popcorn and then left, with plans to never return if that's the kind of service you now get at the fun center. The place was totally dead and now I can see why. If they continue to hire creeps who are old enough to know what courtesy is all about but choose instead to use the surfer's code of ethics or whatever it was that was wrong with that guy, then they can expect their establishment to buckle and go under, even if it is the only place in CO to ride a go kart.
Can I review how crappy Google Review is? Every time I try to update my review, it disappears. Fantastic, Google! I can see why you've taken over the planet.
Short and condensed then, since I know it'll probably disappear anyway, AS FUN AS A BOWL OF...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went there just to go bowling. Rented shoes and used their balls. 2.50$ for a pair of shoes and 2.50 per game.
Very friendly staff and concise.
Bathrooms were well-maintained and clean.
Good choice of varying weighted balls. Rental shoes were extremely comfortable and clean. The kiosk machine, lane, and pins always worked properly as I bowled my four games and accurately scored. It also displayed some statistics of ball speed and other miscellaneous information. 178, 168, 145, 208. Not bad for five years rusty!
They do serve beer, but no mixed drinks, itās not a bar.
The music is not set to exceptionally loud. Playing a variety of new music that you would see on the top 20 list.
While I was there, I did take a look at the mini golf course. It is extremely well manicured and tended. The mini golf looks like a real treat and fun to play. It is $7 per person to play the mini golf of 18 holes.
The reason I give four stars is the arcade is extremely expensive. With no real discounted play passes or membership offered. there are some really awesome looking games but two dollars per play it seems a little high!
Arcades in my area when I grew up, would offer a membership or time slot late at night for reduced or upfront pay and I truly miss this.
Plenty of parking.
Would seem an ideal place to have a young childās...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: they snazzed things up so much! It used to look very dated & I legitimately wondered if they were going to make it out of the pandemic - but they updated things a lot & it is so much nicer now. They brought it into the decade! They have a nice selection of games now (LOVE that they have Mario Kart haha) & their prizes are so much better than they were over the winter (last I checked you can get a switch lite now with enough tickets!) Hopefully they keep that up! :)
Business seems to be doing well so awesome! Ive know Sun Mountain since my childhood so I'm really happy to see that they might continue to stick around for the long haul š„° I think the only thing holding them back from being an amazing spot is just space - they are limited by building & lot size I think.

Old review Id say is still relevant but less jarring than it once was:
This place is fine for kids and they have cleaned it up quite a bit since the pandemic started. However, they really don't do a great job of cleaning their surfaces or bowling balls which is gross - but bowling is sort of gross by default. If you're not a germaphobe like me then it's not a problem - just not into sharing finger food in a spot with little care for...
