We had a great time at Big Kahuna on a Friday over Spring Break - took advantage of their $29 ticket special for that time, which was a lot cheaper than going to Great Wolf Lodge for the day or American Dream waterpark. We got there a little after 10 am when they opened. Check-in was very quick with no line. The waterpark was pretty empty at that time, so we had an easy time finding chairs on which to lay our towels and belongings. They have a nice selection of slides for all ages, a lazy river, an indoor pool which opened around 11 am, a small hot tub, a pool area with slides for toddlers and younger kids, a small pool with basketball nets, a lily pad balancing area, a fun splash area with a gigantic bucket at the top that fills up with water quickly and drenches everyone below, and a cool surfing simulation area. The temperature in the waterpark was nice and warm. It's great that they have a retractable roof that allows the sunlight to come through. The outdoor pools weren't open for our visit since it was only April.

The slides were great. When we first got there, there was only person running the slides at the top, so there was a little bit of a wait. I didn't check later in the day to see if they added another person at the top to make the line go faster. The surfing simulation area was great too. Lots of smaller kids were able to go on it, and it was fun enough for older kids too. The lifeguards were attentive, so the waterpark felt safe.

There are bathrooms with showers and changing rooms. Showers are in one big room, so you're showering with others, There are also lockers available. There is no need to rent a cabana, if you get there early enough and snag a couple of chairs for your belongings. Cabanas are spread out - 3 in the main waterpark, a couple in the other room with the big pool, and the rest outside (which wasn't open when we were there).

The crowds were at their peak by 2/3pm. At that time, the place was too packed to be enjoyable, so we left then. People had to wait to get floaties for the lazy river, etc. I think that they should limit the number of people to avoid the crazy crowds in the afternoon, the lines for the waterslides were pretty long, and the pools and lazy river were too packed. There were too many older kids playing basketball a little aggressively, which was scary for younger kids. They should move the nets to the big pool in the other room and add more basketballs.

The line for the Island Cafe was long and slow at noon (they seemed to be understaffed), so start lining up for food at 11am to avoid what seemed to be a 20- to 30-minute wait on line and for food to be ready. You'd also want to get there before noon to snag a table as you're not allowed to bring the food into the waterpark. The food at the cafe was overall good. We tried the Walking Tacos (Doritos), mac and cheese (supposed to be part of a mac and cheese and pulled pork hamburger, but we were able to order mac and cheese on its own, and it ended up being around $6 - great deal), chicken nuggets with fries, cheeseburger, and giant chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream. The chocolate chip cookie was perfect for 3-4 people and was delicious and gooey. Drinks come in plastic cups that you can get $2 refills afterwards.

There's also a bar area when you first walk in. We didn't order anything from there, so don't have an opinion on it.

There's also a small arcade, but we didn't play any games there. The size of the waterpark is just right, so you don't have to worry about losing your kids. I brought two 10-year-old boys, and they had a great time. Overall, the place is clean. I'd definitely go back when the outdoor area is open, to see what...

Saturday (day before Easter Sunday) 10am -1:30pm

Commute from PA is simple and quick, parking is ample and easy. My first impression once we entered the building was the strong chlorine scent, even at the front door. There’s another set of doors you have to pass through to get to the main room and once there, the chlorine was stronger but bearable....for the moment. Lockers are available with a $20 deposit and rental fee of either $7 or 10 as are cabanas which are a great option for privacy and convenience. Ours was $85 and could seat up to 6 people.

We were among the first hundred or so people there, so the lines were short with minimal wait, which was great because we had a chance to ride just about everything. With about as many rides as I can count on all my fingers, they were pleasant and thrilling. What really impressed me was how the lifeguards took their jobs as serious as they did..maybe too much. With their head-bobbing and awkward, frequent skim along the walls of each attraction, they barely made eye contact or expressed emotion. They were a very committed group of lifeguards and I commend them for their dedication. As for the other attendants stationed at the entrance of some rides, most were unfriendly and simply not enjoying their work. I’m not there for entertainment of that kind, so I didn’t mind. I’d rather they focus on more important things but it would have been nice to run into some that were more friendly and outgoing.

Less than hour into our visit, our eyes were burning and lungs were feeling the result of a tremendous amount of chlorine. Walking was no problem but as soon as we exerted more energy than that, our breathing became heavy, difficult and almost painful. At one point, I didn’t think I could stay much longer. My granddaughter, who is 6, was active but she was coughing much more than normal. If you have breathing problems to begin with, you might want to bring an oxygen tank or another apparatus that would reduce the air intake of chlorine. I’m not a professional so yea, maybe indoor water parks need that much but there should be adequate ventilation, which I felt was lacking.

We realized the crowd was increasing, the lines were twice as long (some tripled in length) and walking from one side of the park to the other took 15 minutes (normally just a couple of minutes would get you from point a to b). At around 1pm, we had our fun and decided to leave. With only about 12 dressing rooms easily accesible, the wait for them was ridiculous; not to mention, risky. There was zero staff available to help out with the disorderly lines and impatient visitors resulting in adults carrying on like children bullying others in the playground. My son took his daughter to the car wrapped in some towels to avoid the hassle and angry families.

I walked in really liking the layout, feeling good about the day and appreciating the staff but I felt only one emotion as I left; relieved. We paid $29 per ticket and honestly am a bit disappointed that we paid as much as we did. During high peak times, this facility is chaotic and likely to exceed maximum occupancy. My best advice is to visit during off peak hours, in the summer or travel the distance to PA’s indoor water parks located in...

This is gonna be a long review but necessary. This park is absolutely atrocious. From the poor lifeguard staff that nearly let me drown twice in the wave pool, to the unsupervised children, to the overpriced worse than Chuck E Cheese quality food. To go into detail my Boyfriend and I got day passes for Sunday, May 26th. The place was packed, the workers were rude, and there was no sign telling you of a bag check outside so we had to walk all the way back out to leave our cooler bag in the car. You can't bring any food or drinks from outside aside from Water and that's all so they can charge you $8 or more for a small soda at the concession area. They have two bars, one situated DIRECTLY in front of the children's play area. They had multiple parents, drinks in hand, drunkenly playing with their children in the play areas. The children are completely unsupervised and I was almost knocked over on multiple occasions by running chuldren. I have a bad hip so if I had fallen I could have been seriously injured. The lifeguards are completely oblivious and don't care about you unless you're an attractive young person. I was not assisted while trying to get into a tube for the snake eyes ride and almost fell in without the tube. Now to the part where I almost died. I was in the wave pool with my boyfriend when the lifeguards allowed it to become overfilled. I was separated from my boyfriend after a group of teenage boys shoved through us. I was pulled under twice. When I finally got above water I was SCREAMING for help but no one did anything until my boyfriend finally got to me and pulled me out. This place is unsafe and unsanitary. I will not be going back and I will be telling everyone I know not to go here. The owners should be ashamed of how they run this business and they need an in depth inspection by the health department. I recommend going to Wildwood, Six flags, or even a campground pool, or community pool over this place. Otherwise you risk serious injury to yourself and your loved ones due to the complete lack of attention by the lifeguards and the uncleanliness of the fitting rooms. My boyfriend found literal human feces on the floor of one of the men's changing rooms and the women's restrooms were covered in urine and one stall had menstrual blood all over it. Never again. Edit: I have been attempting to reach out to the number provided for since our visit and have been put on hold for hours each time. They are shameless and only respond to reviews to try...
