My manager set up a virtual Escape Room experience for our team. We played the Gold Rush experience. This was my third virtual escape room that I've done with this particular company and it is great as a virtual escape room experience! There is a host on the video call and an actual adventurer in the physical escape room that we can verbally direct.
In a real escape room one can typically split up: "I'll continue looking at this while you guys go investigate over there," and you might think that is limited by the virtual nature here. However, that is not a problem as it is mitigated by a web interface that shows an explorable map of the room and an inventory with closeups of all the clues+items you've found. So while the tactile exploration of the room is removed, everyone can still enjoy the puzzle solving aspect because of this web interface.
I will confess that if you have done many escape rooms in the past, or like solving puzzles and playing board games that this particular adventure (Gold Rush) was a little linear. But to be fair, it can't probably be designed as difficult for mass market appeal and to streamline as a virtual experience. There are also other experiences too, and I imagine they will all vary in difficulty and mesh differently with the group that you have.
At the end of the day, ultimately the fun you'll have in an escape room is the people you're with and how well (or poorly) you work together. Overall. had a great time with our host Clayton and "prospector" Austin,...

I’ve never done an escape room before—virtual or physical—but after this experience, I’m officially hooked! This virtual escape room was an absolute blast from start to finish.
The engineering behind it was incredibly impressive. Everything ran smoothly, and the puzzles were clever and engaging without being frustrating. Our field agent was a total rockstar—pulling off tasks one-handed and still managing to follow our guide like a pro! Watching them in action added a whole new layer of excitement to the game.
Special shoutout to our lead, who kept the energy high and spirits up throughout. They really knew how to get the team pumped and kept us focused and laughing the entire time.
Solving clues as a team was a thrill, and the whole experience felt like stepping into a real-life adventure movie. If you're looking for something fun, interactive, and out of the ordinary, I can’t recommend this enough. You don’t need to be an escape room veteran—just bring your curiosity and get ready for...
Read moreOur team at work is a bit on the newer side, so we set up an experience, (Gold Rush), to get the team into a fun activity together. I myself am a seasoned veteran when it comes to physical escape rooms, and I had done a few virtual ones where we essentially were shown animations or images, but that's it. They were fun, but obviously missing a little from the true physical escape room experience.
The Building Hub was much different, and appreciated. You actually have a game host helping on the technical side, and then a person in the room with a camera that you can direct to help you on your adventure. So you're still seeing a physical escape room that you need to make sense of. And they have a neat digital interface where they will show you items you've found so you can reference them in case you need a reminder or need to zoom in on something. Very unique and well done. Would highly recommend. Matt and Wendell (hope I'm spelling that correctly) were very energetic and helpful, and were happy we had...
