Update MARCH 2025 Liberty Pointe and Greystar Management are desperate for money. I am being harassed for $15 on a fictitious charge that they made up THREE YEARS AFTER I VACATED. Allegedly, they did not have my renter's insurance policy for the last month I was there. Just because their record-keeping is flawed is not my problem. The audacity to come after me, harassing me multiple times by phone, email, US mail, etc. for a fake $15 charge that they made up is sick. STAY AWAY THEY HAVE NO INTEGRITY!!!
Update (Feb 2022) I am updating this review because the new property manager and staff are exponentially better than the previous. Jackie is getting things done and addressing some of the open maintenance and service items. She acts immediately and there are positive results. The construction is still cheap, but now the service is much improved.
Original review at 2 stars Looks good, but cheap construction and horrible layouts. "All hat and no saddle". I rented a 2-bed/2-bath unit here after being shown only the model as there were no other units to show. Model in no way resembles actual unit. Weird, awkward angles make furniture placement difficult and limit options. I cannot open the closet door without the bedroom door being closed and likewise cannot open the one drawer in primary bathroom without door being closed. Also, floors are uneven and wood construction beneath makes it so that I hear every single step taken above me and in the hallway. Walls are a drab putty color, so the unit is dark and the nails are bursting through. The fixtures are CHEAP - - thinnest plastic toilet seats, no overhead lights except $10 dining room light, one bar to hang clothes in closet, 8" wide kitchen cabinets (2 mugs wide x 2 mugs deep), 1980s era washer/dryer, and no exhaust fan over stove. Likewise with kitchen drawers- small and the only larger one cannot be open if pantry door is not 100 percent closed. Horrible space planning and configuration.
inal bit of cheapdom: one trash shoot per floor and it is over 250 steps round trip to throw out garbage. Does not sound like a big deal, but it is a city block long . The trash shoot is at the extreme end of one hallway, so unless you live on that hallway, get ready to walk. Also, no effort to recycle, with one small house-sized can for entire building. Recycling piles up in garage each week.
There are limited "newer" apartments near Mt. Lebanon/Bethel Park area, so this is one of two to choose from. Still, it is ridiculous at the low grade product that is provided given the rents charged The office staff is nice. One maintenance man is nice and the other has excessive body odor. ...
Read moreUsually I don't go out of my way to leave scathing reviews, but with the rising cost of rent in the area and so many choices in complexes and rental space, I believe people need to know what they're signing up for. I resided at Liberty Pointe for several years. That being said, I am still very much involved in the community and have many friends that still live here. I was/am on premise quite a bit spending time with residents. Since GREYSTAR has taken over, the service, amenities, and general care and concern over the community is abhorrent at best. The clubhouse is listed as an amenity, however they've changed the hours, largely to business hours so socializing/watching sporting events after work, saturday evenings, or sundays at all is no longer a tangible possibility unless you spend the several hundred dollars to rent it. The pool is just beginning to open and they have already opened it later than the listed hours several times. An employee decided to close the clubhouse early without prior notice, leaving residents and their guests to disband, quickly after a 20 minute notice, an hour earlier than the posted time of closure. The general disrespect shown to residents and guests from an employee I witnessed, not only with her behavior, but with how she spoke to the people present was enough for me to contact GREYSTAR directly with my concerns, to which they responded "We are sorry you are displeased .. Please feel free to get in touch if you'd like to discuss it with us directly." I was under the impression that bringing the incident to their attention was doing exactly that. Apparently not. I find the current culture of the company shamefull, heartbreaking, and distasteful. I used to love Liberty Pointe. It was my first home in Pittsburgh, but I've seen numerous residents leave and the ones who continue to stay are having trouble being heard and feeling considered. I used to suggest LP to friends/coworkers looking for a place in the Bethel Park area. I'm saddened to say that suggestion is no longer one I'm willing to make. Rent is too high of an expense to have residents continually disrespected and ignored. Unfortunately, this has been a steady decline at this complex for several years and the list of offenses are too numerous to list. This is just one cluster of several issues. These residents deserve more - and those looking to move in - I would not encourage you...
Read moreRun far away from this place. Liberty pointe was great under the old management, village green, the new management, Greystar is horrible and everyone working there is completely unprofessional. We had maintenance issues twice with the light fixtures in our dining area and bathroom, took 4 days to get a response and when they finally showed up they didn’t have what they needed and said they’ll get back to us when they have the bulbs... no one ever showed up( this was right after lockdown, so I completely understand things being back ordered, but no response or follow up). Also, the maintenance guys are seriously some of the most unfriendly and rude people ever. They literally go out of their way to avoid you, and multiple times when I was backing out of our parking spot in the garage they sped up on golf carts behind me.. same with when their shifts are over, speeding out of the parking garages. One of Them even yelled at my brother in law for where he was standing outside. Unprofessional. My husband had to cal multiple times to set up an appointment to renew our lease, he left multiple messages and sent so many emails, and nothing. The elevators were also broken for at least 2months, maybe longer. Hardly any update on what happened or when it will be fixed or anytning. Anytime we called asking for an update the staff was rude and in a rush to hang up. We had many elderly people in our building who had no help or anything getting groceries up the steps, and they still charge you full price for rent and common areas being closed/restricted due to covid. The mangers in the leasing office are the most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with. Good luck getting ahold of anyone up there. Someone hit my husbands truck in the parking lot on Christmas Eve and I called asking if maybe there were cameras or anything where he was parked, she said the general manger would return my call... never did I hear from him. The final straw was when I got stuck in the elevator, and not one person could just say “hey I’m sorry “ not the maintenance workers, the leasing girl, and once again do you think the manager Adam called me back? Nope. They have no problem taking all the money we pay for rent, but once you need help or a manager to call you back, you have a better chance of...
