I came to this establishment with the intention of selling my scrap gold. I really appreciated the time and effort made by the employee to test and verify what was gold and what was not. In the end I had just under 8 grams of 14K gold and I was asked what I wanted for it. I didnāt quite know how to take that. Mind you I am quite educated when it comes to precious metals and their worth so for the heck of it I said 100$ and to my astonishment he kinda giggled and said nah. Literally said NAH. so I said ok 80$ and he practically gave the same response and added that he was thinking more like 35$. At that moment I wasnāt playing any more games so I mentioned that one gram of that 14K gold is worth that. So I took my items and asked him if he had any pocket watches. He said he had a few in the corner of the store so I took a quick look and then left the store. Then in the parking lot just for the fun of it I looked up the current price of gold for that day and the value of what I had was around 260$.
I would highly recommend you do not bring anything containing precious metals to this place. I understand that Action Discount is basically a pawn shop but that should not in anyway shape or form devalue precious metals and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went with a friend to Action Discount to look for some tools. We were the only ones in the store looking to buy (there was a lady selling some items). We were asked by the owner (older gentleman) if we needed any help finding anything. When we told him what we were looking for he said he had some in the back, but that it was too much trouble to get it. What type of salesman says it is too much trouble to grab a tool from the back when no one is in the store??? I then asked if he had another item I looked at the week before and he said yes, then proceeded quote me a higher price than he did the week before. I called him on it and he was not willing to honor the earlier quote. Again a poor sales move since it is nearing the end of the season for the usefulness of said tool. I'd much rather go to Dicker & Deal (209 S Mechanic St) a block away were they are happy to do...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI picked up a couple Launchpad MK3 mini's for a great price, but one of them didn't work with my computers. I brought the defective one in, and it didn't work on MOST of the USB ports tested. It did initialize on one of the laptop ports tested, I might have bought that laptop that the Launchpad worked on if it had a price. Didn't work at all on most devices though, so no good. I got the money back and picked up a cheap TV and a classic old game instead, because the prices were great again. I've got lots of great deals on electronics here over the past year and am always impressed. I'd probably stop thru once a month to see what's new, it's always fun raiding pawn shops and thrift stores for deals. If you know what you're looking for, and the average marketplace price, you can find some really cool...
