We reserved this hotel back in February for a competition out in Brooklyn. We chose this hotel based on pictures, reviews, and the hot tub and pool.
Before arrival on 6/3 we called the front desk multiple times throughout the afternoon to inquire about the hot tub and pool time as we had a later check in. Not once was the front desk phone picked up.
When we arrived at 6pm, the two front desk staff were out front on the bench smoking, with no one in the building. They put out their cigarettes and helped us check in.
Upon asking about the pool and hot tub we were told that the hot tub had been closed down for over 6 months and that it was not going to reopen, yet it's continuously advertised on their website. We were extremely upset by this as we would have chosen another hotel as it was needed for our physical therapy.
We were told the pool was heated and should be good to go. The pool was in no way well maintained, cleaned, nor heated. The signs were completely stained with filth, dirt, and a small film on top of the water. It was the most unsanitary pool we have ever seen.
Thankfully the bed itself was newer and the sheets and towels were clean. There was mold spots under the soap holder in the shower.
I honestly cannot recommend this hotel when there are so many nicer and more accommodating ones next door.
We were completely dissatisfied by our stay and filled a complaint. Tabitha the general manager gave me a call while I was at work and then emailed me saying that she was unable to leave a voicemail (not true) and to call back.
I called the front desk and they said she was busy. They asked me to leave a message and she'll call me back. I waited about 5 hours and called back and they told me that she had left.
The customer service here is non existent and the pool is a legit health concern. Do yourself a favor and avoid coming here.
Update** 6/12 Tabitha was out for a personal emergency. She returned my call and was very helpful and explained the situation with the hot tub. The pool heater did go down and is in the process of returning to normal. Her communication was very helpful and restored a lot of the trust in making things right and fixed the...
Read moreI was visiting Jackson with a friend of mine over a weekend in January 2023, and we spent a Saturday night at this Comfort Inn. Overall, it's a decent hotel.||||We were able to check in early which was much appreciated, and our room (#307) was clean and comfortable... no problems there. I liked the business center and was able to use it a bit to surf the Internet during our stay. The speed of the Internet connection on those computers was really nice and helpful.||||In the morning, we ate breakfast elsewhere... so I can't really comment on the quality of the breakfast at the hotel. I assumed that it was the standard breakfast that can usually be found at Choice properties.||||The main disappointment was that the hot tub in the indoor pool area had been permanently closed up at some point. My friend and I were specifically looking for a hotel in Jackson that had a hot tub in the indoor pool area, but unfortunately not many hotels seem to have them anymore. According to one of the photos on this property's website (at the time I was making our reservation), there was a hot tub... but to our surprise and disappointment, it had been removed at some point before we stayed here. If we would have known that this hotel didn't have a hot tub, we probably would have selected a different hotel for our stay.||||But despite our disappointment with the hot-tub situation, our stay was pleasant in general. (If I had the ability to give this hotel a 3.5-star rating, I probably would have... but you can do whole-number ratings on TripAdvisor... so I rounded down to an...
Read moreWe have stayed here many times, with the last time being prior to their latest remodeling. The renovated rooms are very nice, comfortable, and quiet. Despite being located right next to the elevator we were not bothered by any noise and had a good night's rest. There were a few little "nits" that I will mention: The in-room refrigerator did not have a freezer compartment. It appears that this is becoming a Comfort Inn standard based on other places we have stayed recently. We always travel with a small cooler and it's nice to be able to re-freeze our bag of ice but that's not a big issue as we can always refill from the motel's ice machine. The coffee was bitter. They have switched from the old air pots to a brew on demand machine, and the coffee just isn't that good. My wife said that might actually influence her decision to stay next time. My key card stopped working on the morning that we were to check out (although my wife's did not). I've had this happen too often in too many places, not just here. It appears to be a problem with the programming of the expiration time of the cards, as I am always careful not to do anything that would scramble the magnetic strip, and it always happens on the morning prior to checkout. It's always an inconvenience to come back to the room early in the morning with a couple of cups of coffee and my wife still in bed, and I can't get in. All the staff that I interacted with during our stay were very friendly, polite,...
