DIRTY, NASTY, LOUD, AND RUN BY CROOKS! I had stayed at other Super 8 motels and they were fine but this place is a dump. When I got there at 3pm to check in there wer two women behind the counter. They told me I had to wait because they were doing a shift change. They ignored me for 15 minutes. When they finally talked to me they took my credit card and said they would only charge it when I checked out. LIARS! More on that later. So I got the key to my room I didn't even go inside because the woman in the room next to me was on the phone screaming at somebody about money and I didn't want to have to stay next to her. So I asked for another room. When I got to the room it was filthy. They hadn't dusted in ages, the refrigerator was dirty, the microwave hadn't been wiped out and there was one hand towel. They said they would bring towels and after 2 hours I had to call to get them to bring me some. The room was very loud from the highway noise. There were big bugs in it. And this was just the first night. The next day I asked for a different room and the owner showed me two rooms; one smelled like urine and the other was at the end of the hall and the smokers would be right next to it all night making noise. So I went back to my room for that night. The owner lives there with her family and at 10 pm her kids were running up and down the halls screaming. Then the owner was in the hallway talking to someone. At 11pm I finally opened the door and asked them to be quiet because I had to get up early for work. She gave me a snotty look like she just couldn't understand why I was bothered. So the next morning I checked out after only 2 of the 10 nights I had planned on. Turns out they had charged my credit card the full ten nights which they aren't allowed to do. The guy running the desk said only the owner can give a refund and to call her later that day. I made him give me a receipt. I called her later and she didn't have any idea what I was talking about and said she refunded my Expedia account. I told her the I didn't use Expedia, I used credit card and she said she would credit it and hung up. She never even asked me my name. After three days there was no refund. I had to call my credit card company and dispute the charge. Three weeks after I checked out the owner calls me asking me to tell my credit card company to not do a charge back because she refunded my money. It took her three weeks to refund it and she only did it because the credit card company went after her. Bottom line, avoid this place at...
Read moreThis is easily the worst establishment of any kind that I've ever spent money at. First thing we noticed were a pair of swastikas painted on the floor in the lobby that nobody bothered cleaning up. Before we could check in a family was getting a refund because they had bugs in their room and refused to stay. Should have taken that as a warning but, I was already there, the reservation was made and I was tired.
The room was reserved for one night, $30. You get what you pay for. It took us 15 minutes to get in the room because the card reader on the door was finicky. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk in the morning, the woman proceeded to basically call me a liar when I told her it took us that long to get into the room. She started giving me a tutorial on sliding the car in and out rapidly because the door was broken, no key replacement would help.
The bathroom door in the room wouldn't close because the door was apparently replaced with a door that doesn't fit the opening. I had to use the bathroom with the door open, much to our dismay. In my mind I'm thinking no biggy, you get what you pay for. Totally understand when you pay $30 for a room it's going to suck. The main issue came when I extended the stay for an extra day.
Upon extending the stay I first had to convince them that I hadn't owned a dog in 5 years because they tried to charge me a pet fee for no reason. I was given the total of around $65. I asked if that was my total bill for the stay and she said yes. My one night rate was $31, so the price she gave me made sense for a 2 night stay. Upon checking my balance I was charged around $65 for just the second night, I was given a "walk in rate" and in no way, shape or form was she clear in telling me that. For that price, we would have checked out and headed up the street to a nicer establishment for the same price.
On top of that, they're literally the most rude staff I've encountered in any industry my entire life. I don't leave bad reviews, I've worked some terrible customer service jobs and understand how crappy it is to deal with an unreasonably angry customer. This was the first time in my entire life I've gotten in a verbal altercation with a stranger in public AT ALL. I tried to raise my complaints about the room and they said "You didn't have to stay."
If you're thinking about staying here, first consider sleeping in your...
Read moreYou pay extra for a "pet room." Which in our case meant a dirty dark room with broken and scarred furniture. Half of the knobs were missing from the particle board furniture. The desk had names carved into the top and was sticky. The microwave has swill drips down the side. The clock was unplugged and covered in a layer of dirt. The bathroom outlet was crusty with rust and gunk. And behind the toilet was a chunk of something that I refused to get close enough to to identify. Finally, the wash cloth has black streaks. My husband slept with his clothes and tennis shoes on. On the plus side, our dog spent a lot of time sniffing the rug and corners.
When I checked us in the woman was rude and nasty. We'd made a reservation, but you can't indicate you have a pet on the phone app. I had called to ask about the pet fee. Whoever answered just said tell them when you get here. So, we told here when we got there. After hearing about the 30 lb. dog they put us in a 2nd floor "pet room"...no elevator. When I asked if there was a ground floor room, she said no. And I said I'd hurt my knee and stairs were tough so the ground floor would have been better. She said, "You should call earlier to reserve the ground floor pet rooms."
And so I asked if they had someone who could help my husband and I with some luggage (she was standing next to a young man who obviously was learning the system). She said, "No." No sympathy or "I'm so sorry about your knee. I wish we'd have known." She just started telling me how wrong I was. I told her she was rude. And from then on it went downhill. This hotel should not have a Wyndham name on it. I have pictures of the room, except for the chunk behind the toilet which I refused to take a picture of. We didn't find bed bugs, so I guess that was a good thing.
It was 1 a.m. and we tried moving to another nearby hotel, but most didn't take pets and the one that does had their computer system down. So we stuck it out. But it is not worth it. Run fast! Run far. If I could submit my...
