April 16 Memorial — Attraction in Blacksburg

April 16 is a date that has been etched into VT history. I remember reading about it in the papers when it occured, but it was a different experience seeing the halls of the Mechanics building where the tragedy occured.

The memorial aptly reflects those 33 lives that were lost in the form of 33 stones in a semi circle. RIP.

It's always important to remember horrible accidents like this so we can try to be more aware of the people around us and help them when they need it. This is a great memorial to those who lost their lives in this needless act of violence at VT many years ago and of the spirit at VT to rise above challenges and overcome any obstacle...

Such a beautiful memorial paying tribute to the students who so senselessly lost their lives on that day..
